UML MPs demand Maoist's arrest

KATHMANDU, Sept 14 - Lawmakers from the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Thursday demanded immediate arrest of the Maoist, Kaile Giri, who allegedly raped a 12-year old girl in Nuwakot district last Sunday.
The horrific incident occurred in the Haldekali VDC when the hapless girl and her friend were returning home after collecting grass. The minorfs friend, pounced upon by another Maoist, was lucky to escape.
Giri is an official of the so-called gpeoplefs governmenth that the Maoists had declared in the district. Later, the poor girl and her family members were threatened by a group of Maoists with dire consequences if they reported the matter to the police.
MP from Nuwakot, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey of the UML, speaking in the House of Representatives said the heinous act was committed by the local Maoist leader and demanded for his immediate arrest. Pandey said this happened a few days after the Maoists declared their ggovernmenth.
gThe Maoists did not allow the treatment of the bleeding girl for two days to hide their crime,h said Pandey.
The girl is undergoing treatment in the TU Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj.
gThe government cannot remain a mute spectator to the incident that was extensively highlighted by the media and the silent procession taken out by the students of Padma Kanya Campus, demanding action against the culprit,h thundered the UML lawmaker. He urged the government to use maximum force to nab the criminal.
MP Vidya Bhandari of the same party demanded that the government spare no efforts in bringing the guilty to book. She also said that though the Maoists have committed the many cases of such rapes, the government has done nothing. She also revealed that another woman was gang raped by the Maoists in front of her family members in Kalikot district recently. (yo)

In response to Maoist studentsf attack against their colleagues, ANNFSU President Rai said, his student group is organising resistant campaigns in all campuses against the Maoist students starting tomorrow. Similarly, the Maoist students have also vowed to start campaign against the UML students from tomorrow.
----- This attack occured when UML Students tried to protest against
a rape case, and Maoist Studetns were resisting it against making the
case public, and rallies for public awareness.
Its good move by UML Students. Keep it up. Fight against rapists.
Maoists are rapists, and these rapists will come with a conclusion
a week later that the Kaile Giri was kicked out of Maoists. In fact,
Maoists is a collection of all Kaile Giris of Nepal.
