I assume that this Mike McCarthy is a real character and certainly NOT a Nepali. With that assumption, and based on the evidence of his posting (see postings under "my turn"), I conclude that his saying to "all" of us Nepali and friends of Nepal visitors to this site that: "I think you all have way too much time on your hands. Suggest you get off the net and go out and do something constructive" APPEARS to be precisely the kind of patronizing arrogance (i.e. telling others what to do!) that some people accuse America of having too much of. FYI, this is a GBNC site, and visitors here are FREE to spend either all their time here or none at all; they are also free to agree with one another, disagree with one another, and so on and so forth. If some Mike McCarthy disagrees with some of the postings, that's fine, and the history of this site shows that this site is OPEN to disagreements and alternative viewpoints ALL the time. But it's not up to characters like Mike McCarthy or others to tell many Nepali visitors here (many of whom are, no doubt, professionals, students and so on from all over the world) to "go out and do something constructive" -- whatever the hell that means. While we welcome visitors such as Mike and others to this site, let us also be very, very clear about this. >By the way - I am related to the author. Who cares? And besides, being "related" to the author (whoever that is!) earns you no brownie points here. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Hey you are the sorriest ----I have seen in my entire life. You yourself have earned 1/2 a brownie point to say all the time everytime with your so called "answer" which you learned in the "greatest universities on earth." You are still the same freshman who went with wide eyed and so much full of yourself that you are studying Discussion101 you have not been able to shake that off. 1/2 a brownie point for that! Who cares you say what to certain McCarthy. If you don't care why do you write answering to him? You are so pathetic that even the Mao I am sure will have sympathy for you. Always blabbering and failing to see you are making one hell of a fool your self. -10 brownie point for you. I hope to see you again making fool of yourself.

Dear "another observer" (aka Mike?) Many Nepalis, including the Webmaster San, have volunteered their time selflessly to make this site, on the whole, a 'constructive' forum. This site is what it is today because of many, many contributions from Biswo, Sally, Trailokya, Namita, Bik, Diwas K, myself and many, many others who post stuff for others to read, be informed, be amused, be entertained and so on and so forth. If this weren't 'constructive' by their own whatever definitions, they and others would not be here. It's as simple as that. And all who post and read stuff here have, I would imagine, iinteresting lives, and no one is pathetic by whatever definition. Let us get that very clear. I thank you for showering me with compliments. And the last thing I worry about is getting some anonymous gaali for my views. Meantime, I urge others to post in their real names, and stand up to anonymous cyber-attaks with that world-famous Nepali sense of confidence, humor and 'aw-shucks' attitude :-) oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Seems like you have going crazy! After all that world tour, great education and social privileges, your holier-than-thou attitude hasn't changed one bit. All your high-minded philosophizing and $2 will get you a tall (not grande) Starbucks coffee, that's it!

No Coffe for me - but I'll take a Masu Bhat + Chia anyday! You all take too harsh attitudes towards each other in this forum. Why all the character assasinations? One point was in reference to Cross Cultural Marriage. What a crock of shit that person can deal out. My suggestion is to go on with your own life, and make no judgement on others. I seriously do not know how such a person can live in this global community and have such attitude towards cross cultural lifestyle. Mike Binaju

I've been told that this is a forum for all to discuss their own views. Maybe that cup of coffe some one was offering is for you?
