One thing is not clear to me. What is this much talked so called war?

The US has declared war. Against whom? With whom the US is engaging? or going to engage?

Terrorists did claim such a huge irreparable loss in the US that this nation and its people are desperate to let the terrorist people and their harboring nations know that they are messing up with the most formidable force in the world. I understand this but war?

Personally, I denounce the act of terrorism and would love to see all the terrorists eliminated from the face of this world. But is it possible? Even in the days of Ram (Ram rajya), the society was far from perfect.

Let's say the US attacks Afganistan and deals(kills or captures to try at the court of law) with Osama Bin Laden and other associates but that will make Osama Bin Laden more popular and more Osama will born. Yesterday, I was watching a program on CBS (I think) which was talking about Bin Laden and Afganistan. Before the US missile attacks on Afganistan a couple of years ago a lot of people in those region didn't even know who Bin Laden was. US missile attack made him a popular Islamic figure. A group of students in an elite Pakistani school were saying if one Bin Laden is captured or killed ten Bin Laden will emerge. They said they will go for Jihad.

Supporters of Bin Laden's ideas are everywhere. Inside and outside of the US. They are active inside Saudi Arabia, Egypt and many other nations who are allies of the US. How does the US deal with them? by directing missiles at those countries? cetainly not.

Will not it be better if the US while reviewing it's foreign policies trace these terrorists in acive pace and silently show them the door to hell rather than boast and glorify war? if the US is at war then the US will be at war all the time. This war will never end.

I liked the name "Operation infinite justice", though. Yes, it will be an infinite operation for justice.

Europe knows better. Tha is why they are scaling back in their support of the US.

If it were so easy to eliminate the terrorists, Spain would have finished Basque guirellas, France would have vanquished Algerian terrorists, Britains IRA an so on. It is new for the US so all the hot-blooded, Iowa dwellers, clueless Americans want to go toWAR!!! They just don't know what has hit them. The startled response is Let's HIT BACK. To whom? Terrorism is like Raktabij, every drop of blood they shed there will be yet another terrorist. They don't live in one country, they don't have a government, they don't have big sky scrapers to defend so therefore they are nowhere yet everywhere.

Well Bush and Rumfeld have already deployed war ship and what not. They will be held accountable for starting another grizly war, not Talibans or Osama Bin Laden when history will be written. Just as US failed even after bombing Cambodia, to win the war in Vietnam this war is not going to be for the US. Whether it establishes Mr. Bin's link to all its enemy state - Iraq, Iran, etc. etc or not, it intends to win this WAR! The promblem is the sufferers will be the civilians whethere there or here not Mr. Bush or his cronies.
