There are reports that bin Laden has already fled Afghanistan, and it's very likely that he's either entered Iran, Pakistan, or Indian-held Kashmir, where he can find safe haven among fellow jihadis.

Here's what is really chilling. What if he moves into Nepal - is PIA still flying to Kathmandu? Many Kashimiris have found a safe passage to Nepal. Is it just a conincidence that the hijacked Indian Airlines plane ended up in Kandahar, bin Laden's supposed headquarters?

Here are some tantalizing possibilities:

1. US military will butcher our Maobadis - Nepali terrroists in keeping with their promise to flush out terrorism of all kinds from the world. That will be a good riddance.

2. There could be widespread civilian casualties if US decides to carpet-bomb vast swathes of Nepali land to flush out its most wanted man - dead or alive - along with his fellow jihadis.

3. Or bin Laden may quetly settle with fellow Muslim in Banke, Rautahat, or Sarlahi and never be discovered. That will manifest in the rise of fundamentalism in Nepa.

We really don't yet know how smart he is - or his outfit is - right? After all, this is a man who made a mockery of the mighty American military (its highly publicized intelligence capability!!) right in its own backyard. New York and DC, no less.

Bro,

don't worry, Bin Laden is so tall and giant, can hardly fit in Nepali
community. His height is 193cm and if you see a tall guy with some
people around him, you can suspect him as Bin Laden. He will surely
be sourrounded by some more tall guys from Kashmir or Afgan.
and if these Afgan. and Kashimris travel frequently outside Kathmandu,
you can start suspecting Bin Laden's presence in Nepal.

I think BRB and Prachanda will rather invite him, and Mahara will
guard Bin Laden in western Nepal, and keep him as their Advisor.
Some Maoists I talked to them, their party Maoist party was in
fact inspired by Taliban's success under Bin Laden's advisory.

Hi GP:

Thanks for giving Bin Laden's height. But I have seen some very tall Muslims in Nepal. I am not targetting Nepal's Muslim community. Don't mistake me. I am just broadening the premise of our arguments - and considering various possibilities.

It's even likely that Bin Laden may decide to live with non-Muslims if he does enter Nepal. That will make the job of US intelligence even tougher.

On a different note. Bush in his televised adressed today said he wants to flush out all kinds of terrorism from the world. This offers a great window of opportunity to Nepal.

Should the talks with the Maoists fail, Nepal government has to lobby hard with the State Department - American diplomats based in Kathmandu - to include Maoists in the list of terrorists. If recent events are anything to go by, Maoists are terrorists. Deuba has to rid the nation of these murderers.

Help the US in "searching" for Bin Laden and ask US' help in flushing the maobadis?
Not a bad one and not an outrageous demand too, compared to that of China's.

Now lets hope that if and when our so-called politicians are "requested" by the US government, that they also ask for some help!
Anybody a mantri's son/daughter here?
