Kantipuronline.com 's picture had a caption. Policemen (left) who were held by Maoist rebels for three months, talking about their experiences with journalists PRIOR TO THEIR HANDOVER to an official of the International Red Cross in Surkhet district Tuesday. The 17 policemen were abducted from Holeri in Rolpa district. (Online Photo: Moti Poudal) ????? Last year, when former DPM Ram Chandara Poudel arranged a press conference just before releasing Dinesh Sharma (?) and his colleagues, the Masked but fake Human Right Activist PR Tuladhar made a lot of hues and cries that the press conference/press release is troublesome to the peace talk. Now, Maoists did the same trick because they did not first release / HANDOVER the detained police, but, asked them to lie in front of Press (who knows whether they were really speaking the truth, or taped enough to speak in favor of Maoists, thats yet to know) first and then, only handed over to Red Cross peoples. In this scenarios, it smells something different, and if the press report that Police were very well treated . . . blah blah. then, we need to make following imaginations: 1. The press reporters were selected groups to suit /favor Maoist propaganda. 2. They asked only the questions that gives positive side or taped statements, thats what we call dramas. 3. The Police were threatened, if they speak the truths about Maoists. Most of the police come from rural areas, so they can never speak the truth anything against Maoists because of fear of putting their family members in trouble or in high risk of retaliation. 4. Maoists never rejected Royal Nepal Army (did I miss anything) or denied the RNA 's claim that Maoists requested Army to stop and pledged to sit to peace talk, and it happened as RNA claimed. When RNA gave another press release, Mr. Mahara even stopped talking against royals or making royal palace like WTC or Pentagon. 5. The police in recent few weeks, were brainwashed with the aim of using them to boost deteriorating Maoist image in public. All well planned. So, that they can speak all things positively, just the way the field reporter and journalists were treated, as cited by Pratyush Onta, "hami gadi bata worlyu, maoist camrade le lin aye, and hami bicha ma agadi pachadi maoist rebel, gardai rolpa pugyou, hamro dhumdam swagat gariyo, maoist rebel sanga kura gario, sabai hami jasta manche rahichan, feeling pani hamro jasto rahich .... , and suddenly when they detained free reporters, the press realised the real face of Maosits". Well planned to hide the reality. 6. Lets see.

You can read Kantipur Daily, how poor is the reporting on those police released. 1. Either police did not speak as I pointed out before. 2. Police spoke, Kantipur did not want to report after Kantipur Editor Ghimire in road accident, many believes its a payment version of the well known 4lakh retaliation. 3. The reporting is confined though very long, on Faltu talks, to confuse general readers, you can understand after reading from head to tail. 4. How the article of Pratyush Onta works fine with nepal's reporters and human rightists who are in fact neither journalists nor human rightists but masked in those forms to make public fool. As the lower class govt. employee, the Police pointed out in the press confernce. Whether our press community or journalists have any SHAME left? I guess they never had, and I do not see it will be there in near future. The journalists and human rights rushed to Holeri when they heard taht Army sorrounded Maosits, but, once they reached there and realized that Maoists got safe passege, they never felt a need to chase the true reporting. Their main aim of joggling to Holeri was to find govt.'s weakness and create an environment to so that the Maosits can safely escape from the RNA 's trap.
