The afgan war, and Gurkha's probable involvement seems one important issue, and your posting title tries to bring this issue here. Its not USA fought Gulf war in 90s for the benefit of Kuwait but, for the money. Japan paid 9billion yen, and USA used all stock of war equipments. Same in Yugsolavia and other parts of the world. By sending troops USA makes money. Gurkhas participate, and they also get money. I think it is not bad to work under other if our living or especially our families life style get changes, and meantiem, Gurkhas are not fighting against Nepal, so, that is not bad at all. Once upon a time, I also lined up for the Gurkha Varti, unfortuantely, the Galla did not even pass in first selection. I would have enjoyed the retired life in early 30s, that my MEET is enjoying. I am working here, not less than the Gurkha Army under British boss. I have full respect to Gurkha, they should not deny the fight, and make this Gurkha Army open for more generations, while they should fight to get almost equal benefits from British Government. I will not expect equal benefits, because after working almost decade here paying social security almost 25% percentage of my salary, everything goes to nil if I don't work here for 25years. Not even 1 day less. So, the white collar job and blue collar job or green camaflouge does not make difference as long as you are classical Gurkha or new Gurkha "I am new Gurkha with pen and computer infront of me". Both work for others, and under others. Lets face the reality, let nepalis continue the Gurkha army, only thing we need is to educate those youngs what they get in British Army as Gurkha, they should be well educated of this fact. Even after knowing the details, someone wants to go, let it be. Its not bad to work under British, if they offer equal benefits, and here fight shoudl be as mentioned above for equal benefits, not for closer of the circuit. Thanks. Not meant to be harsh on you or classical or new Gurkhas. GP
