The kurakani section of this site has been attracting a lot of readers/posters who have NOTHING to do with Boston or with the Greater Boston Nepali Community in general. GP ji has been posting from Japan; Milan-ji and Trai post from Nepal, and Biswo, Gandhi and others post from the South, and so on and so forth.
This is a FACT no one can argue against.
That this site now attracts a lot of Nepalis and friends of Nepal from all over the planet Earth is a very good thing and helps us all to exchange views and have vigorous debates and get out of our blinkered existence -- sort of like SCN without the usual garbage from Siddharth, Jai Maharaj and many other such Indians and Pakistanis.
Besides, the Web master San is a smart guy who stays out of GBNC politics, and takes his 'customers' feedbacks' seriously to let this site EVOLVE to this present stage as per the request/demand of the visitors.
This too is a very good thing.
And so, as a passionate/ardent/flag-waving well-wisher of this site, my goal for this site is simple:
I want to help make this site NOT number three, NOT number two, BUT number one -- numero uno -- destination for all thoughtful/intelligent/discussion-hungry Nepalis and friends of Nepal. It's that simple.
To do this, it will surely take time, but I want to:
a) draw upon my various networks of friends and acquaintances in Nepal, US and other parts of the world,
b) continue to share news/views and opinions while respecting the right of readers to disagree with my views anytime,
c) ask questions, start debates and spur thoughts to talk about Nepal-related issues without being preachy and pretentious . . . i.e. the point is to have fun, right.
d) and finally, stamp out mindless anonymous attacks by BOTH respecting the freedom of speech and by sheer force of personality, energy and a sense of humor and equanimity. As they say, tough times never last; tough people do.
(Aside, as an example of d) above: All of you must have seen how mindless attacks against me in recent weeks have now basically whimpered to complete silence -- after all, hey, the truth is, two of my old enemies in Somerville -- SNG and RBS -- can post anything against me here using any name they want.
These two can also hate me until their blood boils over, but they damn well know that they CANNOT go far with cheap/false tricks against me or against anyone else . . .So my message to them is simple: I WILL -- make no mistake -- get
you two one way or the other away from this site, even if it takes me years and years. And until we meet face to face, you should accept that there is NOTHING, NOTHING at all that you can do except continue to feed off your reptilian impulses of anger, jealousy, resentment and cold hatred.
So: LAY OFF!!
I can say that because majority of readers here do NOT want mindless attacks
based on old personal issues, and there's even a poll conducted here to prove
my point.
(Anyway, back to other readers, you know, we can use some drama to spice up this site: I like the sense of Hindi-filmi masala the above ko three paragraph conveys!! :-)
Finally, a McKinsey study shows that for a Web site to be great, there has to
be three C's, each leading to the other.
great
a) Content, which attracts repeat
b) Customers who, in turn form loyal
c) Communities
This site has all three.
And so, let us all make this site even better and more vibrant through ideas/views/agreements and even passionate disagreements. Let us attract
more visitors and help posters 'brand' themselves as entities to be taken
seriously . . .
After all, it's IDEAS, IDEAS and IDEAS -- no matter where they come from --
that matters in today's networked and knowledge-driven world.
To repeat: As a well-wisher, I want to help make this site NOT number three,
NOT number two, BUT number one -- numero uno -- destination for all thoughtful/intelligent/discussion-hungry Nepalis and friends of Nepal.
Let us all work together.

Of course the site has been changed over the last two weeks. Now the annonymous personal attacks are fading out of this site. That is a good sign. However, it does not take much time to foil the healthy tradition. In this context, I disagree with your remarks about two Somervillians (Summer Villains ?). I don't know thsse two people whom you are talking about. However, my reaction is that why can't we keep silence and not bring any further issues in this site. I expected you wouldn't invite them to this site again in one or other way to through mud on everyones. Let's just keep them on their own:

Once they are gone, there is no need to invite them (offer your challenge) to this site. Afterall if the anonymous attackers are back again to fight with you, they will not write any good stuff. "Rachhan ma hanyo mukhama chhita." Why should you have any efforts targeted to through those two persons out of this site? If they can write good stuff, they will show up, if they don't they will vanish by themselves. There is another proverb: Haledo Bhanne Jane Pachhi Kina Kotyairakhu Paryo?

Please don't take otherwise, we don't want wise attacks as well based on old personal issues. We (I am sure other visitors also agree with me) don't have any interest in your (not only Ashu's but of all other visitors') personal friendship or enemity, we just want this site be a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences among the visitors.
Healthy criticisms are always welcome.

I can see why you would disagree with me.
And I do NOT blame you.
In fact, if I were you, I'd write the same
thing here too.
But as essayist Paul Fussel has said of

invite you to FIRST allow:
a) 100s anonymous false and malicious attacks against you

I understand your antipathy towards Ashutoshji.
Although, the objective viewpoint here is to actually eliminate Biswoji from your list.
I am not taking Biswoji's side but really, his equipoise in this site has been very admirable.

Really, just as we thought the matter was done, gone, finito then comes a 'come-ons' from the self proclaimed victim. I cannot be as eloquent as Gandhi but what was *really* the point of digging out the dead once again? If we really want this site to be the Number One, first and foremost we have to let go the personal animosity. For that (all the personal stuff)I hope the concerned parties have private email. Please just spare us. I am sometimes the target of mass hysteria but I let it be. And I am happy with this decision of my mine. Of course, this is a personal decision. But please, and I think I am speaking for majority of people who visit this site, don't go to that path, the downward spiral of smear campaign.

ASshu has been a paranoid mental patient lacking confidence since his 2 or 3rd yr in harvard(since that someone dumped him or rejected him). Since then he's gone cuckoo. he feels he need to self congratulate and gratify himself on a regular basis. otherwise he loses touch with reality. Then we get that paranoid jerk again. Ashu, whatever happened to your much hyped e-zine, sifal or something? Why don't you go make your own site numero uno and limit access to only your favorite people. That way, you'll get an ego massage you crave for everyday, leave our perfectly fine community site in peace and free us from your personal grudges. Sounds like a win-win situation for all.
