And where do working professionals (and by that I do not mean families) hang out? Don't get to meet a lot of them even in the get-togethers too (in fact lot of them don't come).

What exactly are you looking for? Another web site? Where do Nepali party? Where do they hang out? What *exactly* are you looking for?

I don't know about the "sinking" part... I've definitely survived in Boston for three years without any contact with the Nepalese here (except three I went to school with). One thing could be that these get-togethers are held on Sunday evenings, and people like to get things done, relax before they start their fight for the next week then. Another could be no alcohol is served, and if I'm out to have fun, I'd like to have a couple of beers and I'm sure same that goes for a lot of other people too. Third the events are more like family events rather than for singles, so people tend to avoid it. There definitely are lot of professional Nepalese in Boston (because people keep asking me if I've met certain person and my answer has always been "not yet"), and it really is surprising that very few show up. And I keep hinting at "professional" because I want to know people who share common interests. My sense of patriotism is not strong enough, I guess, to be satisfied with just sticking with the Nepalese. But then, at the same time, it's been 3 years. So far, so good, so what.

I guess I should have been more specific - let me elaborate. I am a gradate student in Intercultural Relations, working with four colleagues & we are attempting to research the Nepli community in Boston - which is a community we are very interested in. One of our starting places was The Greater Boston Nepali Community website - one of the group members happened upon it on the web. One thing that we would like to know is. . .what other sort of connections are there to the commuinty? This website seems to be a very large community gathering place. . .or do I have that wrong? If there are other things that tie the community together - I would love to know. Does anyone know if there are student organizations formed around the Nepali Student Community in Boston? Thanks for your help!
