The Kathmandu Film Archives -- a newly-formed joint-venture between The Godavari Alumni Association and Martin Chautari presents, after two well-received Chinese movies, its THIRD show:

CITIZEN KANE
(United States, 1941; running length: two hours)

a CLASSIC film by Orson Welles

Place: GAA Hall, Thamel Phone: 414785
Date: Friday, November 10, 5:30 pm
PRICE: May NOT exceed Rs. 50

Come one, come all to see this "best movie ever made"
and capture the romance, the grandeur and the suspense
of this great, great movie.

Special thanks to Chantal Lama of Alliance
Francaise, Thapa-Thali for making this movie
available to The KFA.

On another note, this is the LAST time this sort
of notice about the KFA will appear on
this Web site.

That's because, the KFA, under the leadership of
Anup Subedi, now has a really good team in place
to take the organization forward.

Over the past two months -- thanks to Biresh Shah,
Anil Baral, Deependra Gauchan, Mahendra "Honda"
Sakya, Sujata Thapa, Manjushree Thapa, Bhaskar
Gautam, Sanjog Rupakheti, Dipak Sarkar, Bikash and Samjhana Rauniar, Dipak Thapa, Shova Chand, Ramyata Limbu, Manesh Shrestha, Ajit Baral, Pratyoush Onta, Mary Des Chene, Prem Basnet and all the members of
ECCA -- the KFA has made useful contacts with foreign embasasies and cultural centers.

It has also has created loose but working links with
the Nepali press to help publicize its activities.
And it has put together sources to look for funding
to eventually organize international feature film festivals in Kathmandu, and go on to buy its own
sets of projectors and video stuff.

This is all very, very good, despite there being
no short-cut to success!!

Though I will always remain an ardent supporter of
the KFA, I am happy that the birth pangs of the KFA
are over, and that my work is -- happily,
successfully -- done.

Here's to wishing Anup Subedi and the gang
all the best as they continue to carry this
KFA forward.

Next show: November 24, 2000 at 5:30.
