Dear Friends,
I want to focus your mind towards the following news written about the situation of cheated Nepalese Workers in Malaysia which is published in Nepal's Populer Daily Newspaper Kantipur on 14 Oct. I want to remind that I had written about this issue before some weeks for your concern.

Hundreds of Nepali labourers ask for govt. help
(Kantipur Online Report)

KATHMANDU, Oct. 14 – Hundreds of Nepalis who had made their way to Malaysia after signing job contracts have appealed to the government for help after failing to receive facilities as per their labour
contract.
Several letters sent to Kantipur Publications recently by migrant Nepali labours in Malaysia said cases where they had not received facilities as per contracts from different Malaysian companies had
increased dramatically in recent months and that they had sent similar letter to the government describing their plight.
About 25,000 Nepalis had gone to Malaysia following Malaysian Government’s decision to provide jobs to some 50,000 Nepali labourers. However, several workers are now saying that they had appealed to
the Nepali government for help because the working condition and treatment was unbearable and intolerable.
In one case, a group of 85 Nepali workers who had gone to Malaysia through a man-power agency in Kathmandu and currently working at GCT Furniture Industry, last week wrote a letter to the Ministry of
Labour requesting the Nepal government help to rescue them what whet they termed "injustices."
The letter, which was also received by Kantipur Publications alleged that the workers were constantly harassed by the police when asked for facilities promised to them by the industry
The Ministry of Labour and Transport has said it will investigate the allegation as soon as possible. The Ministry also asked the group to return back to their work until a solution could be found. (rk)
