But, the Jumbo cabinet is real proof. I called him same when he was just nominated as PM 2nd time and released Maoists and allowed them to have free access to torture and extortion of money in the country. At least GPK 's it was a bit less. If the talk fails, Sher is the most failed PM in Nepal. GP

yeah its true, sher bdr is only trying to hold his chair.Just take a look at those prisoners being released one after another day by day.And i wonder where and how are all those kidnapped policemen(79 or more)?if all of them are released then why is govt so quiet?and if they are not released ,then why?Whats maobadis demand to release them? i agree,Bijay Gachhadar, narayan sharma and Birendra Kanaudiya are not capable of any ministership.they are/were known smugglers of their respective areas.Where is Sher Bahadur heading our country.I wonder whats gonna happen.

There are couple of mistakes in the list and their portfolios. Nepalnews.com has more precise list. I personally know couple of these closely or slight remotely. And I tell you, qualifications and knowledge about the ministry they are related is not the prime criteria to become a minister, as this long list proves. If qualification does matter then there will be very few who can really be a minister. Its sad, for the poor country to bear the burden the cost for the facilities provided for all these people who in turn return nothing to the country. sad MLS

What do we need all these 40+ ministers/state ministers/asst. ministers for? We don't need more than 10 members in our cabinet. This is just open loot. Waste of people's money. Most of these ministers are nothing but support poles for Deuba. And, yeh! A man minister for Ministry for Woman. Very well. Many many years ago I did see a Hindi movie (Aja ka MLA ?) where an illeterate guy (sawarswati prasad?) is education minister, a criminal is justice minister,..etc. Sher Bahadur must have seen that movie, recently.

Sher Bdr Deuba seems to have grave problem of insecurity. And see what kind of people he had inducted in his ministry? This man should behave like a strong person, representing young blood of nation. Basically, there are no enough words to decry this ministry. It seems the weakness of Deuba is that he thinks he is prime minister not because of votes (and trust) of people, but because of votes of MPs .

Why not to make all these MP's as Ministers for the progress and properity of our country. That might be more reliable ...

I once read in the newspaper analysis about the size of cabinets in different countries half a decade ago, when Sher Bahadur Deuba formed a record high 48 member cabinet. India has more than 500 seats in their union parliament of which less than 11% were minister then. It was less than 8% in China. There were some other examples from other countries too, which I forgot now. In an international perspective the moderate size seemed 10% of total MPs. But in Nepal, it is at least double the average size. The cost of raising a Minister is in Millions of Rupees per year including the cost of Secretaries, Guards, Vehicles, Offices, Advisors (Technical, legal etc. etc.), Office staff etc. I read somewhere that one of our leader once had 17 advisors and they were paid at least a joint secretary level salary. Other hidden cost of raising those pigs ................. thats unbearable. Jay Nepal Gandhi

To add to the fun and gaijatraa: Dilli Raj Sharma [If I am not mistaken, this gentleman was the headmaster of one school near Tandi and he later migrated to Parbat for political purpose] refuses the ministry by first saying "it is too big a ministry". Then goes on to say"Dhaulagiri is given only assistant minister." Then, finally, "a lot of my juniors are made state ministers and full ministers.." What a jerk. He in one newspaper even says that his head was fractured in 2036 due to beating of Mandales. What kind of qualifications he is talking about to become full minister? Why not this gentleman just says " the ministry is too big, and I don't need the position?" NC parliamentarians are so corrupt from inside, so greedy and so venal, any leader dreaming to run NC is having trouble these days. They must be shameful for chanting the mantra of democracy. The only solution now is to give PM an absolute right to go to election. Make election bodies strong, make other monitoring bodies strong, and let the country go to that direction.

Well, here are my thoughts plus a volley of questions, rhetorical or otherwise: Why make such a hulla baloo over the formation of the cabinet? When is the last time it was formed keeping in mind the interest of the country? Just because some of your relatives or friends did not figure out in the cabinet is no reason to grumble. Has the cabinet, or council of ministers, whether small or jumbo, ever delivered anything to the country other than a pile and pile of garbage? Then why do you put so much emphasis on the formation of the council of ministers? There is a redundant workforce in the bureacracy (includes parasite corporations too) sitting idele and drawing salaries and perks from the treasury ---- most of the time spent on political gossipping and gham tapne. You have the right concern for spending more money on the ministers but you need to say the same for overburdened bureacracy too. Have you ever tried to do a report card on each ministers or the cabinet? No. Because we all know that they are a useless bunch. Why jump a foot up on who gets the finance portfolio? What does it matter to a man in the street? You just take a look at the annual budget and find out where all the money goes. Not to the people. We have former finance ministers since last three decades sitting pretty and in good jobs or financial situation individually and familywise or in prosperity while the country has been going down hill ever since. We seem to immortalize those finance ministers who used a bigger begging bowl and told us nothing about where that money went to.We all know that those who were eductated in the west were the worst lot once they returned and took the job. Those of you who have taken the opportunity of being in the US or outside Nepal either on a study or some sort of tour, work, etc, by means of taking advantages of such corrupt ministers or their administration, why complain now? Just check with your parents how they managed to send you abroad. If you have any guilt, you should confess it now. The support you received/obtained for going outside of Nepal by all those earnings by corrupt means due to corruptibility of these ministers should be the first thing that should be exposed. It is easy to criticise from Boston and around but please take a look at yourself first. I do not mean you GPji personally but there are many. How you came here and what your parents and relatives are still doing. Please motivate them first TO WORK HARD , wORK SMART AND HONESTLY (not cheat in the work they are doing) and NOT SEEK AND ACCEPT THE BRIBES even if they have to send the kids abroad. Didnot Taranath Ranabhatay say recently that he knows that the civil servants bribe ministers to get their work done? If you want to bring about any changes in Nepal, i.e., make it a corruption free or reduce the corruption, keep the city clean, etc, please start putting pressure on your parents, relatives and friends back home who are at the helm of the power, who are in the bureacracy. Can they each individually declare that she/he is corruption free? No...op. Then why criticize poor Deuba only whose hands are tied. Does one really have to go on proving who ate, literally, ate ghoosh and still eating ghoosh? Look at the houses constructed?? Where did they get the money from? Look how they support their kids in boarding schools with a limited income in the bureacracy? Many of them send their kids abroad also. Is money taking the only means of corruption? No. There are other forms of corruptions too which these bureacrats and politicians practice well. Look at the bungling that takes place in each scholarship for a foreign country. You all know it well and many of you are direct beneficieries of such corrupt practices. No need to throw dirt on only others.... look at yourself. You should look beyond the known source of income of many of the bureacrats. My god... these people must have their own mint at home or at work. Lord Pashupati and Swayambhu both will not forgive these corrupt people. There are men, women and children dying everyday due to lack of ordinary medicines and yet these bureacrats and politicians are riding high on the corrupt money meant for the people whom they were to serve. For a common man sudho sadha janata in Nepal, it does not matter whether you have a Ramay or Chyamay as PM and any airay, khairay and nakachhairay as ministers. They would give a damn for they have seen the Bahadusr of Surya, Lokerndra and Sher variety, the Prashads of KP and GP variety come and go as Prime Minister more than once. In the second and subsequent term, they only want to make money what they missed the last time. Kathaibara! chh...ch..ch.. hare shiva, shiva. Well, pardon me for my dharabahik. Happy dasain. Have a good khasi ko masu, maas ko dal, alu ko achar, bhutuwa, sekuwa, and a bit of aiyla or rato pani. If not, continue to enjoy McDonald's hamburger if you happen to believe in assimilation of cultures. You will get the anwwer there to your question: 'where is the beef'. Sunchari
