This topic is vast, and I guess no one here has authority to explain this word, probably most of us do not have in depth knowledge. With your nickname, I guess whether you are trying to create typhoon in this forum, and fire that spreads very widely during typhoon. Nepal is not a homogeneous country like Japan, or most east asian or middle east countries, or western world, so, you can not get or should not expect a average answer in this complicated topic. Its better you read books on Nepali culture, and history. My very short answer to you is "Nepal has wide variation in superstition, that you find a uniqe definition in homogeneous countries around the world". GP

hi,Typhoons I do not understand what do you mean by superstition? Nepal preserves its culture, religion which is based ancient vedic hindu philosophy. By this time whole world knows after 9-11 that probably only peaceful place on this planet will be Nepal and India where the anicent peaceful heritage and vedic civilization prevails. Nepal may be poor outwardly but mentally we are the most rich peopleand we believe in peace and harmony. I think, most of concept of the superstition in the prejudices orginated from western civilization. So I will assure you that you are going to have a wonderful time while you will be in Nepal.
