Still, in the course of hunting out his non-existent similarities, Miller produces some fascinating information about Einstein. He emphasises how "unacademic" Einstein was in 1905: he had been turned down for every academic post for which he had applied. The article in which he unveiled special relativity was strikingly unorthodox in form, and would probably not be published in any science journal today, for it discusses only a single experiment and contains no references at all.
