It is indeed a sad news. Is the guy insane or did he have any motive? Hard to believe that he was not aware of the heightened airport security unless he was in a different planet. I hope the truth will come out soon.
What is even equally sad is the behaviour of SOME of the Kurakani.com knit pickers. It really shows the inner thinking and quality of those people who come and go. Instead of finding out more, through the Nepal Embassy or through friends, Nepal associations, students and community members more about Subash Gurung and help provide information to authorities on Gurung , there are many who started beating not just only Subash Gurung but all Gurungs. There is all kind of name calling on Gurungs and if you visit the site Nepalhomepage.com, there are postings full of racial slurs. Some postings even appear as if they are ready to outcast Gurungs.
I have not read in the postings from anyone who has offered to help Gurung at this hour of need to get the facts out. Everyone is quick to disown him. Where is the community that takes pride in serving the Nepalis in America? Don't we have anyone in Chicago who knew Subash Gurung or his brother Sushil. Why are we so quick to deliver the judgement even before the facts come out?
I can't digest the fact what he did as reported. It would be good if we can find out more about this guy and provide more info on him to the authorities.
