The Queen is sick and is going to London for treatment. The crown prince is accompanying her to London. I wonder how much that trip is going to cost the government. I am sure it is not being financed by the palace. It does not appear that she is seriously ill. She doesn't have confidence in the Nepalese health system that she has to travel to London to see a doctor. Every time a politician or a royalty has any health problem, they travel to the US or Europe to get treatment. What a waste of moeny. Why counldn't they have gone to India? India has some great medical facilities staffed with highly qualified doctors. They have cutting edge medical technologies to treat disease of all kinds at a fraction of the cost. The money spent by the politicians and the royalty on their own health could pay for the treatment of thousands of poor Nepalese. Today, if a citizen wants to see a doctor at one of the hospitals in Kathmandu, he/she has to wait in line for hours only to be examined by doctor who is exhausted from seeing more patients that he can physically and mentally handle. "DOCTOR-PATIENT ratio in Nepal is one of the worst in the world. There is only one doctor for about 36 thousand patients in rural Nepal. In urban centers the ratio may be a little better, but not quite satisfactory yet." And those who are in a position to do something about it turn a blind eye, or even worse, they travel to the west at the government's/peoples' expense. Every year the country has to dig deeper into its pocket to function and depend on foreign aid to provide its citizens with basic needs.

Doubtful that the queen is sick. The Christmas holiday season is on now. It is a great time for shopping and sight seeing. Why is it necessary for 4 persons to go if she will be in the hospital for the checkup. One escort would be enough. No, this is a shopping trip pure and simple. And I the people will be paying the expences, not the palace. The headlines cannot be believed. The people are too smart to believe everything they are told.
