Hello,

On behalf of the GBNC Executive committee I invite any and all members of the GBNC community (and beyond) to this forum where any relevant questions or suggestions you have concerning the GBNC, for the GBNC executive committee, can be asked. The questions/suggestions posed in this forum will help us better serve the community and your input will be greatly valued. And we will do our best to answer whatever questions you have in a timely manner, as we can not be successful without your support. Thank you.

Hello,

You may find questions that pertain to you and the GBNC in this forum at this thread:

A Strategy to Assist Subash Gurung

Along with the those pertinent issues, in particular, what has been your role in assisting SG since you are an elected leader of the community and SG is a member of that community?

How welcome are the non-Bostonians in this forum? I am no where near Northeast, but since discovering this forum through another Nepali site, I have started participating in some interesting discussions. I have no suggestion to give GBNC. Am I still welcome to participate or shall check out the door?

Hi there,

I have been a regular participant in this forum,
and based on what I have seen here, it is safe to
say that this forum WELCOMES non-Bostonians too.

In fact, some would argue that the very strength of
this site is that it allows ALL KINDS of viewpoints from
ALL KINDS of Nepalis posted here -- thereby making
this a steaming cauldron (mind that metaphor!)
of Peer-to-Peer learning.

So, feel free to post stuff here.

On another note, I used to be critical of people
not using their own names here, but recently,
I have discovered that for some people there are
legitmate reasons as to why they don't want to use
their names in public, and I have learnt to
appreciate those reasons.

This is, again, one example of ow peer-to-peer learning
takes place, if one is willing to be open to better ideas.

I am on this site from my workplace quite often. I am not in Boston. (And I do get work done). Somehow what I read here always brings me back to check for more. And the funny thing is I am actually posting stuff as well, because I feel that I am amongst my peers here. Good work!

More people need to go to the chat room though. I have lots of down time at work.
not a chatter Posted on 14-Nov-01 04:33 PM

i feel that posting messages is far better and enjoyable than actually chatting in the room . btw , not many peope have time to sit and chat and some (like me ) would even hate chatting. The site is so much irresistible just because of all this frequent postings and stressing on chatting more than these discussion board would defenitely debeautify the glory of the site.
not a chatter Posted on 14-Nov-01 04:38 PM

..and btw, how do some people post their messages with their(originator's ) name in red? Are we non redders supposed to believe that all in red are the board (council) members of gbnc or in a special way related to gbnc or gbnc.org ?
SP Posted on 14-Nov-01 05:00 PM

Hi Not-a-chatter,
The usernames in red indicate that the user has registered. You can register by clicking on the REGISTER link that appears on top of the kurakani section in the homepage.
Regards.

Hi Siwalik.

as you have probably already observed, and as Ashu has noted, you and anyone not physically residing in the Boston area are more than welcome to participate in all areas of this website. This forum is more of a way for comments to be posted or questions to be asked to the executive committee i.e. concerning future events to be organized by the GBNC here in Boston or any other comment that you feel would help us out in the long run. And this is not just limited to individuals in the boston area, although this will mainly impact those who are currently living in this area. Anyway, I hope this answers your question.

cheers,

Hi,

How about GBNC council having an official "spokes-Person" rather than just "GBNC_council" posting messages? It would be less confusing for the council and general members if one designated person becomes the charge de affair.

Dear MLS,

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually, "GBNC_Council" is posted by the official spokesperson for the GBNC. We should make this clearer and to the end, I will put up a note on the "GBNC News" section.

Regards,

Bik.
President of GBNC.
