Kudos also to Dr. Upendra Devkota, easily Nepal's best-known neurosurgeon,
for using his professional influence to first contact doctors in Singapore to look
at these babies.

May Ganga and Jamuna go on to have healthy, happy and productive lives.

fate of these poppular twins still remain uncertain. This is one of the rarest kind of operations performed successfully(?) in the history of medicine. There is no doubt that it would be an exceptional case history for the students of medicine and surgeons but no one really is sure whether they would be able to lead a normal life afterward.

I dont know whether u guys are aware that Dr Upendra devkota was against this operation. It is not only a scientific issue, its also an ethical issue. waht do we want? We want a name in a history to be recorded as a successful surgeon? we want all fame and worldwide attention ? or we just want two healthy individuals? If later is the unanimous choice then probably we opted a wrong choice by letting the singaporian doctor perform the surgery. It may bea personality clash between big shots but dr devkota's point make a lot of sense. He was in favor of waiting for some to reduce the extent of brain damage which is inevitable in these kinds of surgery.

I am totally perplexed by this isuue. If i were a father what would i do? I would be happy with two healthy babies joined at head or I would go for an uncertain surgery which can not guarentee anything but just a lot of hope.......any one to help?

ganga jamuna, wish u a speedy recovery

PS. I certainly appreciate the generocity ofsingaporean and nepali and all other people who made it happen.
