Hey .. this is an interesting topic..let us talk about this one!
GP Posted on 25-Nov-01 07:37 PM

These days everyone realized that Kurakani is a waste when
your opponent is threatening of using muscle or muscle of
bad words. Now, only muscle works : in internet the ugly
f* words and in Nepal, gun and bullet. Deuba has lost his
slogan of Kurakani for everything.

Kurakani works with only normal people, but, not with
abnormal peoples.

no, no, no GP bandhu. I don't think you can give that simpliefied answer to "why is the Kurakani dead?" The F* word has always been there and threatening to use the "muscle" also has always been there. The bullies are everywhere. That does not stop the world go around, so to speak. I think the real reason, in my view is, that the people who post regularly here are just busy with their various "real" jobs. And it could be that another set of people who used to post just ran out of words or ideas. What do you think? Let's talk about the postings. That is interesting enough for me than the subject matter of postings.

hey ?, what is interesting enough for u is funny....in fact that interests me too..that's probably what made me post this dead topic here.. :p

Hi, don't come to conclusions too soon! As the situation in Nepal changes some people must be reflecting about how to react... in the mean time keep in mind that it's just been a long weekend in the US, where a lot of people travel.

One way to revive dead kurakani for ANY one of us is to keep the kurakani -- on ANY subject -- going and going and going.

It'd be a sad day if this site, for its vitality and vibrancy, relied on the schedules
of a few posters.

And so, despite occasional words of self-congratulations (mostly as a way to cope with occasional stupid attacks), no poster here is any more important than others.

Unfortunately Ashu, the substance of interest in this "Kurakani" does seem to emulate the schedule of a few posters. How many visitors do you think this place has? Perhaps a way of keeping discussions going is to establish special interest rooms.

>How
>many visitors do you think this place has?

BP, I have no idea, except I look at that "600,000-Plus" figure and go "wow!".

And that reminds me: San, why not have a section devoted to "Visitor Stat" here?

Such a section, I'd imagine, would have GENERAL and automatically updated info on which countries people are logging on from, which US/Canadian cities they are visiting from, which ISPs they are using and other such info of general nature, without, of course, violating anyone's privacy rights.

What do you say, Web master?
If this is a lousy idea, then that's that.

For a poster, it'd be extremely gratifying to see, through such a "visitor Stat" section, that one's postings are being read by Nepalis in, say, Popua New
Guinea or Berkina Faso. At times, letting people browse the "VS" section could be a way to make them 'stick' longer to this site.

just out. a new subject, could be...

You know Toyota was just sick of its good name turned into a vehicle for Terrorists. They were sick of the images where Taliban would jump out of their Toyotal to beat up women, transport their victims to the football stadium and so on...

Toyota has built a new line of SUVs (2002) that has velcro-like substance on the steering wheel. Let's say if you were a Taliban and wanted to drive this vehicle you may want to think twice. say, you have a beard that is around 4 inches long. and you drive this suv in afganistan where the roads are just big pot holes and there are sharp turns everywhere. if you swerve your suv then the beard will get stuck, get it? :) And they have reduced the height of the vehicle too. No big turbans there. When you turn on the ignition then Dylan's song, "Just like a woman" blares out which cannot be deactivated! Now, if you were a cave dweller Taliban, would you drive this vehicle?
joie de vivre Posted on 26-Nov-01 09:46 AM

That’s absolutely hilarious.

Ok, so when does this new SUV come out? I’d give my right arm (no, make that my left, I’ll save my right one for a Hog) to own a vehicle that automatically plays Dylan’s tunes.

lemme tell you somethin. if it was not published in NYT, i would have thought the report was just a prank. They just had a test drive so it should be out in January...
