The chances of Indian Army getting involved is very slim. But what really is important here is the question of how far the Maoists will go in their so called "peoples' war." Their act is in no way justifiable. Killing people whether innocent or not is not a solution for anything.
Babu Ram Bhattarai might talk about French Revolution as an excuse for his Maoists' shameless, sinful deeds. But French Revolution took place in 18th century. We, humankind have become more civilized since then. We know better ways to deal with things. Mahatma Gandhi proved to everyone that revolution can be brought without violence. And talking about French Revolution, does Babu Ram know that France after their revolution went from one extreme to another? French revolution gave birth to instability, distrust, anarchism and what not. It took France at least another five years to get on a track even after the revolution. French realized later that the way they brought their revolution was a big mistake. British had the same kind of revolution. But how many lived were lost in it????? Very very less as compared to the lives french lost.
So now dear Babu Ram, let's talk about british revolution and Gandhi's revolution.

You are very right. French revolution is just an excuse. Babu Ram knows quite well how to manipulate poor ignorant nepalese.

There is no dearth of Nepalese living in a fool's paradise. The reality of international affairs are harsh, and we have to realize that. This statement is an example of how naive our views are:

"But French Revolution took place in 18th century. We, humankind have become more civilized since then."

Really? How do you explain the holocaust, the Stalinist purge, the First African World War in 2000, the Serb atrocities, etc. all occuring in the 20th century? Were these not acts of humans?

When it comes to politics of state and international affairs, self-interested political entrepreneurs will stop at nothing. You and I will be expendible commodities for their selfish gains. The fact is that revolutions have been effective means to challenge entrenched power, and that is what the Maoists have sought to use. Whether their analysis and solution is right is another matter. I do not feel that these are foolish people making insane decisions when they pursued armed insurgency challenging the legitimacy of the monarchy and the democratic government soaked in corruption. There is no need to appeal to emotion and sparing the lives of innocent Nepalese to these people. They do not operation from that perspective. The sooner we realize the nature of their politics, the better we will be. Face the fact: Politics is brutal.
