Who do you think is the most recognized Nepali woman ever?
Nepalese people liked her because of her simplicity. I am saying this as a confidante. She was definitely one of the most charming and artisticly gifted high dignatory in Nepal.
My Answer: Late Princess Shruti

my sasu. i remember back in '91 going trekking in dolpa. a lodge owner in dunai remembered meeting her and i thought, "wow, even way out here in BFE, folks know her name!" big things DO come in little packages.
akela Posted on 03-Dec-01 11:13 AM

krishna

what is BFE
krisha Posted on 03-Dec-01 12:20 PM

>what is BFE

It's a not-so-nice abbreviation for an imaginary location in Egypt. Suffice it to say that it means "the middle of nowhere." My vote for Sasu-ji stands.

how 'abot Nani Maiyya Dahal. She is a study in herself....
GP Posted on 04-Dec-01 01:41 AM

In 2038(?), when BP died of his cronic cancer
and there was Karyakram in Open theatre. Suddenly
and surprisingly, I got chances to attend as an audience
in the Programme. I first time saw, KPB, Man Mohan, Girija
Prasad, .... and last but, not least was Nani Maiya Dahal
was also there. I guess from Panchayati leaders side
she was probably the only one MP visibly present at the
karyakram. Kathmandu peoples should are really great
and funny, how they elect their leaders when they
dislike the system and leadership. Top Panchayati
leaders were afraid of NMD. She was controversial,
and probably she did not know much about modern
political science, but, she surely helped peoples in
many occasions, without taking any form bribe "just
one honor -- Nani Maiya Didjyu".
