Hi all, I grew up in Nepal and it natural for me to see Nepal develop and prosper. I thought about going back to help out so I went back to Nepal in 1994. Everyone in Nepal told me to go back to the US and take care of my education and profession. There is nothing for us here they said. I have been living in the US for a several years and so much adapted to and involved with her system here. It is too much to ask for me to ask Nepal to be like New York, but I shortly and surely can dream about it . I am very much impressed with the system in New York and the way Mayor Guilliani ran the city. I am sort of caught between two cultures. My significant other is also a Nepali, which helps me to maintain my mother culture. To find out more about Nepal and Nepali I designed a website to promote them. I was quite involved with the project so I researched about Nepal and Nepali. I did not want to stop there so I invited a few friends to join in. (Biswo, Trailokya, Akhilesh, Namita Kiran, Gandhi) I thank you for coming. I don't wan to stop here so I would like to invite you again to join in with us to march ahead in twentieth century with the rest of the world. I found out that I do not need to do more, but to encourage current projects, Nepalis and their leaders. I very much welcome ideas and opinions of questions I ask below and elaborate more about developments projects and development of Nepal. How much we have developed? Are we developing or stagnating? Please respond with facts, you are welcome to send stories, poems, viewpoints also in regarding these matter of something else related to Nepal and Nepali. Nepal is developing and there are a several projects in progress such as, Hydro-electric power, road maintenance, Village Banking, rual infrastructure, basic and primary education projects, Higher Education Project and so forth. Some of these projects are financed by a loan through World Bank, UNDP and others through investing companies and countries. Here are some of the projects: 1.IFC Equity 2.The Road Maintenance and Development Project 3.The Rural Infrastructure Project for Nepal 4.The Basic and Primary Education Project 5.Renewable energy company Pacific Hydro Ltd project 6.The Irrigation Sector Project 7. Multimodal Transit and Trade Facilitation Project 8. management and capacity in agricultural research 9. Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project 10. tangible support for the ongoing reform process at Tribhuvan University (TU) by supporting the implementation of a package of policy changes in higher education, including the initiation of much-needed systemic changes in the administrative, financial, and management processes of the university The national emergency may be causing these projects to delay for now. 11. Higher Secondary Education 12.Financial Sector Adjustment Nepal's struggle with Maobadi rebels and Kingdom's emergency ruling with Military and police force may be slowing some of these projects down. In every country there is always some sort of terrorism going on. Just recently, terrorist master mind Bin Laden's attacked in the US caused the country to go further into recession. Why has not Nepal come forward with the rest of the world? One of Nepal's biggest challenge is that it is landlocked. It is also geographically challenged because Nepal has a lot of mountains and hills. It makes very difficult for laying infrastucture for the country. One of the key feature needed to develop a country is infrastructure. Roads enable businesses and trade to function fully. There are a several projects for infrastructure. Where is Nepal going? Is Maobadi going to give up? Everyone blames on policies and systems of Nepal. Who makes the system? Who enforces the systems? Why Nepal came up of Maobadi? Why people not working instead of rebelling? These are the questions Nepali should be asking to their leaders. I always like the quotes of late American President John F. Kennedy "Ask not what country can do for you ask what you can do for your country." Peopls say the government is corrupted, people are corrupted. How does a leader gets government out of corruption? Late King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founding father of Nepal said that people is his fortune. People are stronger his fortune gets stronger. Is present King Gyanendra feels the same way like his ancestor? How about other leaders? For more visit www.chakrapath.com/discus
