Dear all, I have NO IDEA why my name is consistently dragged into these various "sexual abuse" threads. Obviously, some people have nothing better to do than attack me from right and left, even when I have chosen to temporarily stay away from this site, to fully concentrate on some of my deadline-bound work. I can only wish these attackers well. I do remember having a discussion once with certain individual named Ranjit Rana regarding this very "sexual abuse" thing on the site called Nepalhorizons.com. If I remember clearly, my suggestion to Rana then was: Assuming his charges were true, then he should visit Nepal, use the legal means to gather support, and evidence and try to get compensation. Else, I told him, with all those various ranting and raving postings, attacks and so on he risked turning the issue and himself into one great laughingstock. In retrospect, it's now clear that my straightforward suggestion to him was obviously too much to bear, and I can see that he has now chosen to come after me here, setting me up as, of course, some Great Satan. Oh well. Some people are like that. And that's life. I also do NOT understand why the good name of Mr. P B Panday, a well-respected banker in Kathmandu, was dragged into this whole thing too. This past week-end, I was tempted to ask Mr. Panday to come visit this site, but, decided that he surely has better things to do than respond to these patently absurd charges. I mean, where would be the limit? The issue of sexual abuse -- wherever it happens and to whoever it happens to -- is SERIOUS, to be sure. But it's clear -- to me anyway -- that the accusers here (Rana and others) seem hellbent on abusing their freedom of speech to defame certain individuals than in calmly educating/informing the rest of us. I am convinced, as I was convinced before, that their behaviours here do not seem to inspire trust, confidence and, increasingly, even interest. Regarding the GAA, well, it is doing quite well these days in Kathmandu under the dynamic leadership of Mahendra "Honda" Shakya, who is, as many of us know, also the ex-president of GBNC. In fact, early next year, the GAA is throwing a reception in honor of the writer Samrat Upadhyay. Finally, regarding, Fr. Moran, well, he's been dead for some years. Though I was never his student, I am grateful that he and other Jesuits founded St. Xavier's Godavari, St. Xavier's Jawalakhel and even helped found St. Mary's School. For those of you interested in reading some RESEARCHED and FOOTNOTED stuff about Fr. Moran, I recommend his biography written by Donald A. Messerschmidt, and titled "“Moran of Kathmandu” . It's available in bookstores. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Dear Mr. Tiwari, Indeed the motto of St.Xavier's is "Live for God and Live for Nepal" or whatever. I do not think that your Father Marshal Moran lived by what he said. Infact he lived for the devil and died by bring disrepute to his country America. I am ashamed with that name as an American. I am also ashamed to be linked with that name as an educator of Adelaide University. I have known Mr. Ranjit Rana and his harrowing suffering of sex abuse by said Marshal Moran, and has been proven beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law in Australia. By the way, I am a reader of Anthropology. Rana's suffering has been extensively documented by my student Mr. John Mellowship in 1990. The chief corroboration came from Dr. Deepak Raj Pant a former student of St. Xavier and now a prominent scientist of Royal Nepal Acedemy, and who has been decorated with "Gorkha Dashin Bahu." Are you denying the fact and covering the name of your reverend father who damaged many lives in Nepal? Why are you being so recalcitrant and arrogant? I have now scrutinised this forum and many former students have come forward with their sufferings. To me that in itself is very brave and commendable. I have my utmost sympathy. Even the Archbishop of Adelade's Catholic Chruch apolosised to Mr. Rana and Dr. Pant about the past sufferings. The fact is that even Dr. Pant suffered in the hands of the said Moran. Oh! you could not confront Mr. Pandey to bring the message of truth. What a shame? By the way Mr. Pandey is married to Mr. Rana's cousin (Mrs. Pratima Pandey). By the way Mrs. Pandey's mother and Mr. Rana's mother are sisters. By the way Himalaya Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana and Mr. Rana's father are cousins. Got the message. You would not even be received by Mr. Pandey as you are not relevant in their scheme of things. Got the message! Got the picture! Mr. Rana has got nothing to do in this forum. His name has also been dragged into this by people unknown to him and your computer connections in USA and elsewhere. What has been established beyond reasonable doubt is that the said Moran has been defrocked as a notorious pedophile and the most deranged serial sex offender that Asia has ever come to learn about. You and your Moran advertising and marketing leads you to no where. You and your deluded mind has been doped into this unsustainable myth of Moran mania through untested jesuit marketing hype or that you have been brainwashed to believe in the jesuit brand logo of St. Xavier's and all things about it in terms of its brand equity. What can anybody get from Nepalese primitive law that cannot protect young children? It could not protect people like Mr. Rana who came from a very noble family? For that matter many well to do member of the Nepalese society? I have the opinion that you are the ranter with silly utopian ideas that is unsustainable. The proof is in the pudding and that is your coldness to the plight of the victims. There is an adage is America "God may save you, but no way your jack ass."
