HOW MANY NEPALI DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT-BULB??

Its a simple question!!
GP Posted on 16-Dec-01 06:23 PM

This was copied from Kantipuronline.com The victim was
the guard at USAID office, shot dead by Maoists (?).

When you post things not your original, an acknowledgement
or a reference (source) is expected. Thats how we
can continue to get these rare items for public use.
If you don't give any reference to owners, then,
its equivalent to "CHEATING" of others work.

Lets not forget the Coloumbus Egg, everything before
done is hard, and once done is so simple. This photograph
too.

This picture was used to make some observation-- It is not presented here as news of some sort. No one is claiming that they took the picture or trying to take credit. If I was using this picture for some professional matter I would put a source

Just observe how many people are there-- 5 people are trying to transfer the body, and there are at least 9 people who are just looking- ah right!!!

Why do some of you have to be "SO Rightous?". Smart Ass!!
Ratatata... Posted on 17-Dec-01 01:27 PM

I strongly agree with GP ji. We should not be exploting intellectual property in this manner. No one is trying to take credit for the picture nor is it being used for professional purpose, but still someone from Kantipur Online must have worked very hard to get that picture. No matter what, the source of the picture should have been mentioned.
Anyway, what's so funny about relatives helping to carry a dead body. Everywhere, be it in Nepal or Amrika - all dead are treated with equal respect. It is the duty of everyone to help the dead walk their last ritual of life. The by-standers must have been the near and dear ones of the dead. Hence, this picture can under no circumstances be compared to a light bulb.
Can you imagine none of your relatives being present on your funeral or even willing to carry your dead corpse. At least, the poor man has had many friends in his life while he was living - the picture proves it.

Yes, it's a simple question, though the photo that follows frayed the thread. My answer is "One. S/he grabs bulb and twists hand and wrist making a 'Ke garne?' gesticulation until bulb posts are freed from socket grooves." (Repeat in opposite direction to insert.)

If the victim has a lot of fractures, a lot of people may be needed to roll the patient for transport. Nepalis or not.
GP Posted on 17-Dec-01 07:43 PM

BP speaks:

If the victim has a lot of fractures, a lot of people may be needed to roll the patient for transport.

"If the victim has a lot of fractures,...." well said, BP.

"Gahirai dubdai nadub, dubi sakeka chou bhane moti natipi napharka ..."
as hear the song in Radio Nepal almost once a week, I bait.
If you try to understand what BP says in straight meaning its so
simple, and in Depath, it has much deeper and "tear"ing meaning.
The death of Guardman looks a commoner's death in straight sense,
but, the death of "Guard" surely has fractured many things and
USAID office and Nepal Govt. in other perspective. Like Maoists
wanted to paralize Nepali society by killing Police and discouraging
peoples to join Police force, and similarly, the killer wants to
discourage peoples joining job places associated with Americans.
Its a trick played by Maoists, and in my short talk with one
Maoists supporter, in fact, his whole family members Maoists activists
gives the reason of killing Police, "to bring the country to zero,
and restart from zero". Without fracturing it to zero level, they
don't see any chances to get the access to power house and the
best way is to demorlize or discourage anyone joining police and
army, because we all know a society without Police and army will
be what?

FYI -- in general I am not a very profound person. But here, I agree with what I said myself.
