The first group of people to feel the pang of emergency seems to be journalists. Today's kantipur reports Deshantar and Saghu are the latest victims. I don't know about Saghu, but Deshantar is one of those weeklies which firmly support the idea of democracy. It sometimes tries to insinuate the king is against the constitution, but I don't find that accusation to be wrong.[Let me reaffirm, I am not Congressi. Hell, not.] I , whenever I had time, used to read Deshantar, and I generally found the newspaper to be very democratic. I don't know why they were pursued this time. I don't know what the intention of our prime minister or RNA is. May be they are just blinkered in their quest to succeed in the mission. I wish them goodluck. But they shouldn't expect others to be blinkered in their view also. Let the truth be spoken. ********---------------*************---------------- Here is a nice article by Gunaraj Luitel, a fine journalist from Kantipur. http://www.kantipuronline.com/kantipur_html/kantipur_news4.htm#4 It tells a sad tale about an innocent victim of RNA and police in this emergency. I think when we commit mistake, we need to ,at least, say 'sorry' and promise we won't repeat that again. This story is really a very sad story. Please read when you have time. *****************------------------**************************
