Was not there strict exam to move to next grade at the end of each academic year, and was not there the source of illusive PRIDE: Passing the SLC exam for village peoples, the education would meant to them life every day daal bhaat tarkari. If we impose more strict exams and try to call SLC exam as a great achievement, we are trying to tell those SLC passed young minds that you have achieved a great thing in your life. Iin fact, the toughness of SLC exam for peoples from villages is really a great PRIDE, such pride has put them in great trouble. Because of this SLC Passout, and Wah Wah cheers in village , s/he start to think as really great and it pushed him/her into search for white collar job and finally, end up in frustration, because in real world 10th grade cleared person is just a literate, nothing more. So, the SLC board should be dismantled and more liberal exam system should be introduced in public schools. I would rather prefer, EXAMS should not mean a gate to go to next grade in govt. funded public shools which are primarly meant to produce literate citizens. Upto high school i.e. 10th grade, any kids can join any class according to their age. Since they are studying from tax collected from public, govt. should not waste money and also age by forcing them to go for same grade several time just because s/he could not achieve 30% in all subjects. This should be used only for college and university students. The other important aspect of current education system, should minimize the home work to kids. The limitation should be imposed even on private schools. The minimum and maximum limits of courses should be imposed on all kinds of schools. When I see the curriculum at private school, the students finish course work of almost 2 o3 grade higher than in Ministry of education 's curruiculum designed for public schools. It has given unncessary burden to the students, and they could do nothing else outside studies. Thus, they are either deserved to be white collar job seekers or nothing more than kehi kaam-SHIP nabhako halludo. There needs to be immediate action. Well, in todays Nepal who is inerested in doing things so far. Everone is rushing to grab their chair as much as they can. Thats why educated peoples with honest and kehi garou bhanne mind, have no future , no hope in nepal. So, if they get legal or illegal chance to quit their homeland they will be interested to leave the country. After Emergency impose, the way Girija trying to be PM again, I forsee no hope in Nepal. If you can escape, you are lucky. The Maoist problem will not be solved in our generation, it will continue for another decades if not quarater century. We will be hearing everyday xx policemen were killed and xx maoists were killed, ... as the cartoon in TKP appeared said "everyday same news, are our reporters on strike".... Jai Nepal . Tara Na-Gae huncha nepal. (under present situation). GP
