Entrepreneurs lobby for RNAC privatization KATHMANDU, Dec 26 - Various private entrepreneurs, experts and government officials including the Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission and the Executive Chairman of the Royal Nepal Airlines (RNAC), pointed out Tuesday that the national flag carrier with more than Rs 2.5 billion in debt will not be able to keep running any more in its present state. ... (for detail read KOL) ---- If ultra-nationalist peoples among developed countries are anyone to be noted, then, Japanese are number one. In such a country also, to solve the management problem, NISSAN Motors 's Board of Directors put the famous Brazilian turned to be a French as head of the company and asked to reform. He first kicked off all those working chains using personal connection and fired large number of staffs. The media were flaming against him, for his outrageous actions. Now, he is quite famous and his works are appreciated very much. RNAC on the other hand is suffering from management problem. For example, when I tried to confirm my flight date on prepurchased ticket, the staffs at Osaka always tell me to call after one month and for last 3 months I am calling them over telephone to confirm my ticket. They ask funny question, "group or individual?" What does this question means? When I say I am individual traveller they continue to decline to confirm my tickets. But, peoples who travel in RNAC even recently say, Air plane was not really full. Had plenty of seats vacant. Why so? They told in my recent frustrated telephone enquiry, why do you always deny me, but, your air planes always return not full? Their reply was peoples can book in RNAC about 1 and half year back, i.e. till next year end 2002 end the airline is fully booked, but, those booked guys need to purchase ticket only one month before the flight. That means, you can just book the airline and keep your name there for 1 year and 5 months and at the last 30 days you can cancel or will be automatically cancelled. So, you have no obligation of "Wogatne" kaam ko compensation. The management calls it a complementary ? I wonder to whom? To me a pre purchased traveller or a person who just books and never buys the booked seat? What a management RNAC had? Its policy failure. God Bless RNAC. GP
