I'm like keeping my list short though not simple: 1) quit smoking (or at least try to) :)

For those of you fighting the battle of the bulge or those aspiring to be leaner and stronger or those who want to bring down your body fat percentage to single digit- you should consider THE BODY FOR LIFE CHALLENGE. It’s a twelve weeks challenge ( not limited to one) with good incentives. Checkout the site below for details. I am doing it myself and would love to see others challenge themselves physically and mentally. My resolution is to do 3 consecutive challenges. http://www.bodyforlife.com

I'm always fighting a losing battle against weight but I'd much rather go to the gym.

How much you wanna gain and which areas ? I don't think it's hard to gain weight but proportion growth is difficult. There are lots of supplements you can use plus high carb diet. Personally, I think weight training is the best way to get bigger.

Mero Resolutions: Dump my current girlfriend. God knows how much I have tried during 2001 but was unsuccessful. She is like a bowling ball, I throw her in the gutter and she still comes back for more. Quit my current job, start my PHD, find me another girlfriend and see how it goes.

Mr. Number: I hope your current girl friend figures out that it is you who has been posting here crying drunken tears and bad mouthing her. Wish you both luck. Sounds like you will need it!

My resolution: Go back to home and learn with my Tharu friends how to play tomtom(maadal). I am so sad I didn't learn it in my childhood. This song, which probably doesn't have tomtom in it, should be challenging for any maadal player: "Saal Ko Paata Tapari Gaasera. Ber Bho Maayaa Jaam Daadaa Kaatera. Paani Taalai maa." - Tirtha Kumari(?)

Anepalikt- Since I am gonna dump my gf (I am almost there, give me a week), I will be free. But I presume you are more 'wiser', probably married (or taken) and certainly more mature than me, if you are not available, you might help me find someone descent. :-)

Here are my random thoughts on the New Year Day. Learn new things; reflect positively. Indeed, these are difficult times - just received a long year-end note from a classmate (he's had a preety insular life), saying how 9/11 shook his worldview, and life in general. I am haunted more by Maobad, poverty, corruption, etc. As damaging as they are, but what angers me most is the all-pervasive indifference to all that's happening aorund/to us. Call it fatalism, or compartmentalization. This year I will meet more interesting (and proactive!) people, travel to new places, make new freinds, discuss new ideas, new books, new movies. And not the least, spend more quality time with friends and family.

JDV, It's not that i wanna rain on your parade but what is a new year resolution anyway? Most likely one wants to "lose weight, do good, be good, appreciate beauty, find beauty, keep faith and so on...' if you look at the list, eveybody, anybody is trying to do good or be a better person or a better looking at the least. If so then should n't we be like this everyday, every year, every waking hour of our lives? why wait for a new year? why make a "new year resolution?" Guess what? True to myself i did not make any and no need to fret if i could keept it or lash at myself for not keeping it at the end of the year. every day is a new year for me as far as making resoultion goes. I just wanted to go to a temple today and that is what I did. tomorrow is another day. I just liked it how nepali celebrated new year in Nepal or at least when i was tehre. just wake in the morning take a bath/shower and go to pashupatinath and maybe give some alms. That is my kinda beginning a new year. no heavy weight of resolution hanging about me.....
