here's what i'm trying to do:
i have a database of organization/email pairs
i have a form where the user selects a given organization and writes a little message
i want the message to be e-mailed to the address that corresponds to the organization selected
here's what i have done so far
given the org, get e-mail from database
but HOW OH HOW do i get the message mailed to the address?
HELP PLEASE

I use a formmail.pl; I am pretty sure you can use it. Look for a formmail file on the internet and look at the structure. Once you figure out this programs structure, I think you will be able.

i need a VBS/JS solution, not a perl one
it's off a billy boy IIS server, and as far as i know, SENDMAIL etc dont work on that platform

check this out in your asp reference book:
Set Mail = Server.CreateObject("Persits.MailSender") blah blah blah
worked for me on IIS platform.

Here's what I have from my asp notes:
set mymail = Server.createObject("CDONTS.NewMail")
mymail.to = request.form("to")
rest of mymail.from, mymail.subject, etc.. mymail.body, etc. here
mymail.send
response.write "Your mail has been sent"

sorry...you would have to download persists mailsender and run that on your server

Check MDSN for "CDONT". Don't forget to enforce proper email address format on your html form.

Its CDONTS not CFONTS.
CDONTS comes with Win2K (IIS).

This is what happens when Nepaliz take up jobs they are not qualified to do so... its a common occurance these days.. Or are you one of those people who went to school and then thought they knew everything?? POOR YOU!!! You have so much more coming your way and some more but you sound like you deserve it too.
As for myself, I learn something new everyday! So thanks Kancho for correcting me and yes I was tripping on cfml :) I just wish I had it everyday, but then poor ole me will be subjected to punctuations!!
