Hashimoto is probably the highest profiled Nepalophile, but recently there are some disturbing signs in our press and some organizations about welcoming him. See, we need to understand that we shouldn't press the visitor for money too much. But it seems to me, people look at him with expectation. We need to understand that eventhough he was a PM, he is not a Rockefellar, and money should not gauge his love to Nepal. Now, nepalnews.com reports in its headline he donated 20,000 dollars to a hospital. Kantipur says it is 2,000.00. I think Kantipur is correct in its reporting. The reporting by Kantipur is more dignifying than that of Nepalnews.com, at least I felt that way when I read them! We need to thank PM Hashimoto for his persistent belief in Nepal, not just for the monetary assistance.
