We feel constrained when we think that people back in Nepal are doing every deplorable actions we will never support, and yet we, fully knowing that they are wrong, yet feel that we cannot do anything. We smile and dip our head when a dignitary comes from Nepal to USA, our US based organizations(I mean their chief) flock to their service as if they have got their ultimate chief.A lot of time, when our representative reads the citation of praise to the feckless leader coming from Nepal,we know fully that the leader doesn't deserve the praise, still we clap and sit in audience. We listen to his speech again, get lectured, and feel impressed with him. This is not unusual but I know there are some individuals who think this is wrong, and opt out of these ceremonies, knowing fully the vacuity of these ceremonies. I had one friend back in Beijing.(He,Both ISc and SLC board!, a man of honor and by nature won't likd to be advertised,so don't want to write his name here!) When late Tulsi Lal Amatya Comrade helped two sons of his fellow comarades to secure Chinese government's scholarship,A friend of mine stopped participating in any event Nepalese embassy organized thereafter. No respect to ambassador, no respect to the programs chaired by him!!I think that was a good way to protest! When relatively benign primeminister Man Mohan Adhikari went to Shanghai and stayed in prestigeous JinLing Hotel, a few of the students there just didn't go to the jadparty .No respect for the whole ministry!(I can't remember if the sugar scandal was already surfaced by then, but I think some of students were simply disgruntled!) It is difficult to say political ideology played a major part in the decision. It is simply conscience. It is rather shameful that such conscientious individuals are relatively few in USA.Organizations like GBNC can decide, however, who is the best person to fete and set exemplary trend! This is my small opinion, and I am sure a lot of people can think different way, because people can have their own different way of revolting against what is contemptible.
