Dear friends, Just got back from Nepal last month. When I was in Nepal, one of my villagers asked me few questions about former minister Mr. Govinda Raj Joshi who is a central leader of ruling party of Nepal. Mr. Joshi hails from my neighboring district. Since I do not have enough knowledge about Joshi, I did not feel qualified enough to answer the villager’s question. But I did promise to write him if I get any further information. The question from this naïve villager has pinched me badly. At the same time, I am kind of curious if the question has any merit. Here I am waiting for your inputs. Key questions from the villager: 1) Does Mr. Joshi own a gas station in Colorado, USA area? The villager told me that Govindha Raj Joshi’s youngest son, who dropped out of Kathmandu University’s BS program, manages the store. May be someone from Colorado area knows better. 2) Is Mr. Joshi one of the richest men in Nepal? According to the villager, Joshi has accumulated lots of wealth after he became minister. Which is more than enough for national budget of Nepal for at least two years? 3) Is Mr. Joshi planning to settle in USA? 4) Did Mr. Joshi give his daughter a 40 Lakh house in Baneshor as a birthday gift? So on…..Any Idea? Please feel free to write. Thanks

According to my Knowledge, Although I do not live in Colorado but do know Deepak Dai (Govinda Raj Joshi's elder son) who lives and WORKS at a GAS station rather than OWNING one. Before posting here, I wish you had done some research. Deepak Raj Joshi, finished his Bachelors from Phillipines and is completing his masters from Colorado. Before Colorado he was going to school at Arknasas or Arizona. After hearing similar things off the TABLOIDS of Nepal, I called Deepak dai to verify, he cracked up. All he had to say was, you know me, I am working my ass-off at a GAS station and to finish my Masters Degree, and here I hear the story. Deepak dai, who know him, know that he is a very genuine person.

If Netas Aka Mantris' of Nepal were that honest of the postion that they hold for, guys we would have much better life and more opportunities back home. Personally I think almost all Netas' are corrupted, who knows what goes on? All they are is Gushiaas, personally I think, all of them deserved Hang and Kora, what they are sucking is, poor people money. Otherwise, How would a Neta would own a Big Bungla house, a pajero or highly expensive car, a great life style a lotta money with them after being Mantri, with the facility provided to the Mantris of Nepal. "Jun goru aaye pani sing Thikho"" Like what I envision them is all GORUs there? that shouldn't really matter to them, with what perception i view them, because they are Shameless. I hope many people view same as I do . The avarice of Matri is wellknown, They are braggart by nature. They tried to be smart ass by keeping their wealth under name of Bhai, Batij ...but who doesnt know whats going on.. Few examples: --Bijaya Gachhadar, khumBhadur Khadka... Bamdev Gautam- I personally have a opinion to set a criteria for a neta to be a Mantri such as Minimum Education Requirement, Amount of service and so ... Not like a Test(grade 10) fail people becoming the ruler of Nepal. Me Lord where is the education valued???

Personally i was very hopeful from Maoists but they turned out to be criminals. I bet if they had beginned their campaign by killing these bastards, they would have been in the government by now with the supported from all the people. well i guess all we can do is wait and see......... kancha

I do not know anything about owning a gas station in colorado area.. but I know that his son lives there.. guruji...it is better not to comment on his son as a dropped out from KU or whatever, that is his personal kura whether or not it is true. I am in no doubt that this corrupt minister has earned/looted enough to norture his seventh generation but why do we investigate his son's academic background? Even if he is dropped out from KU..so What? Does that make you feel satisfied because this son of corrupt minister has not been able to earn degree and has been wandering around US for the sake of business. Blame him directly. It looks like you are his purano enemy. If you ask me, what is he planning to do in his nateeko nwarun...the answer will be simple...GO F... YOURSELF.

Dear friends, Thanks a lot for the inputs. I would like to make couple of things very clear. This discussion is not about Mr. Govinda Raj Joshi’s family members and relatives. So Deepak jee and others should not be offended from this posting! As Biswo wrote earlier, this is about an elected leader of our country, who has been holding a major of position in Nepal since early 90’s. Some of my relatives are from Tanahun and they have elected Mr. Joshi continuously since the 90’s. SO, WE (I, MY VILLAGER, AND MY RELATIVES) HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT HIM AND RUMOURS RELATED HIM. PLEASE CORRECT IF I AM WRONG! I have send a copy my earlier posting to my friends who live in Nepal (mainly Chitwan, Kaski, Tanhun, Gorkha, and Lamjung). If I hear anything from them, I will certainly post you guys. Once again thanks a lot.

Deepak-ji, Your father, a former head-master-turned-mantri, is a multi-millionaire in Nepal. This is a fact. At this point, I don't even care HOW he amassed his fortune. Let's assume -- giving you the benefit of doubt -- that his wealth is all legitimate and all that. Now, putting the fact and the assumption together, let me ask you, with all due respect: What on earth are you doing working at some gas station in Colorado when: a) your father is a multi-millionaire in Nepal (a fact) b) through his own legitimate efforts? (an assumption) If you say: hey, it's none of your business, you'd be quite right. It would really be none of my business to ask you that question. But if you invoke that line of argument, it will follow that, that would also mean it would be none of YOUR business too, regarding how people make PUBLIC comments about your father who happens to be a PUBLIC FIGURE in Nepal. In other words, he may be your father, and that's fine. But on sajha.com, he's also a sajha personality in that his being a PUBLIC figure in Nepal -- where his decisions can potentially upgrade/reverse people's fate -- allows all democratic citizens to make all kinds of positive and negative comments about him as much as they want. In facing this sort of attacks, you are not alone: From Amy Carter to Chelsea Clinton to Jenna Bush to Prakash Man Singh to Bimalendra Nidhi to Sujata Koirala and countless other politicians' offsprings have found out, such is the downside of being closely related to a politician or being a politician's offspring. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Digital Maniac, Talking positively or negatively about Govinda Raj Joshi is a public forum is a FAIR game. Why? Because GRJ is a public figure. Newspapers in Nepal routinely publish good and bad news about GRJ, and that's because he's a politican, a public figure, a mantri. Assuming that the real Deepak Raj Joshi did come here, then the real Deepak Raj Joshi -- a private figure -- came here and posted stuff n the public AT HIS OWN RISK. Again, AT HIS OWN RISK. [If DRJ had been smart, he could have stayed silent and let this whole thing blow over in due course.] Now, once they see DRJ's posting, people who visit this site are FREE to interpret those public remarks here in any way they want. That's the downside of posting your remarks on the Net. Once your postings are in the PUBLIC domain, you have absolutely no control over how they would be interpreted by all and sundry, and that's life. My earlier posting was about this: DRJ cannot have his cake and eat it too. Either he lets his father remain a public figure and learns to accept the good and the bad that comes in public with such a stance. Or, distances himself from his father either by keeping silent or by making a public declaration to that effect Or, defends his father in public and accepts all the counter-attacks and so-called misinterpretations as a price he has to pay for being a politician's son. So, short of hiring you as his spokesperson, what's he going to do? Finally, on a larger note, there IS a reason why we don't see any US-based sons and daughters of Nepali Marxists or other Nepali politicians OPENLY discussing ideas/thoughts/criticisms here on this site. Deep in their heart, they all know -- or so I suspect -- that they can't really forcefully, openly and honestly and credibly talk about Nepali politics without putting themselves in the line of what DRJ has just put himself through. But this is just my suspicion - and I could be dead wrong about this. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

This is PUBLIC Forum where annonmity can be hidden and public lashing is a way of life- I totally understand that. But I am dissapointed by YOU and some others who CLAIM to be GOOD and LIEBERAL (LIBETERIAN) in every sense to attack on somone via third person. To attack GOVINDA, you don't need to attack Deepak. If you know Deepak personally and do not like what he did or has done, then its a different story. Tara, because SOME LEFTIST Tabloid says that Govinda has a GAS station in Colorado and DEEPAK lives in COLORADO, you should imply that DEEPAK owns the GAS station and thus Deepak is BAD. What should DEEPAK do and NOT to do is Deepaks thing just like yours. Its just that I did not expect your shortcomings on your VALUE system to lower yourself to attack Deepak. I have alreay mentioned before, Govinda Raj Joshi, whom I do not know personally and is a public figure is a different story.

DM, Perhaps I was not clear before: let me make this attempt. Look, as I tried to say in my two postings above, I personally was/am MUCH MORE interested in commenting on how DRJ chose to respond to his father's critics than in attacking DRJ himself. Scroll up and re-read my postings, if you wish. You imply that DRJ is a great guy irrespective of his public-figure father. Fine. I can live with that. But the fact also remains that: we cannot choose our parents; and, unless we break off the relationship, we are STUCK with them. And, in some cases, if your parents happen to be big figures of enormous interest to public out there, then, for better or worse, you will also get the blame for this and praise for that, and such a process just goes on and on -- and that's the (sad) reality behind living in, as it were, a fishbowl. This was my main point, and I cited examples of other "famous" political offsprings. And so, your friend DRJ might as well accept that because of his father, he IS living in a fishbowl. And once he acceps that, he should try to make the best of the situation instead of spraying, as Biswo said, bitterness and anger at sajha.com people. Now, having said all this, if you see this as just another attack against your friend DRJ, well, that'd be just wrong. oohi sleepless in kathmandu, and listening to a Nabin K. Bhattarai CD ashu

Its the intent. I don't have the skills to explain a lot like you, and from Deepak's posting its clear of his shortcomings as well. Here are the basis on which I found you attacking DRJ: You literally called him a fool: "[If DRJ had been smart, he could have stayed silent and let this whole thing blow over in due course.] " You have made me his "short" of a hired spokesperson. "So, short of hiring you as his spokesperson, what's he going to do? " J vaye pani, you talk about GBJ's older son, Deepak Raj Joshi (he used to work at Radio Sagarmatha) to your friends who knew him and make the judgement about him yourself. Good Nite.

>I thought you guys were smart, dissimilar to ROUWDY Nepalese who went on >the streets to kill themselves beacuse a losy Indian actor said something about >Nepal, but again Nepali na pare sabai. DMji: I am surprised how people hate to be publicly commented when they do something. I was waiting here to know if someone really knows about alleged illegal hoarding of properties by a minister of Nepal. Sharad, apparently a voter of the guy, wanted to verify the charges. There was no ill intention in his all postings,as I could clearly see. All he was asking is what his one gullible neighbor asked him (probably because he lives in US now) if the accusation against the former- headmaster turned politician is true. What's wrong with that? He just wanted to verify the accusation, and guileless people shouldn't be fearful of investigation. I don't know Sharadji, nor do I know Deepakji. But the fact that Deepakji came spouting venom at the discussants somehow demonstrated how perturbed he was at those questions. And nobody had anything against you, but your comments are also vitriolic and the fusillades against those people who are asking something in this forum, while simultaneously claiming high ground for yourself [even using words like again Nepali na pare sabai. ], just doesn't prove anything. Nobody is against Deepak or even Govinda Joshi if they have committed no wrong, if they have not cheated other people, if they have not rigged election or lied to people and if they didn't contribute in making Nepal poor. Esp there is nothing against Deepak if he is working hard here in USA. But nobody can claim high ground in this forum by saying "do not waste time talking in chat room", and "becaue of peopel like our country is there now". See, innocent people need to utilize this public forum to disabuse people of prevarication, and politically guided propaganda. Everybody loves to listen explanation here.

It is certainly true that why would someone care for someone else's life. Here why would other care about Dipak's personal life. Also it is also acceptable that GRJ is a public figure so we have right to say about him doin wrong and frauds with public property(Govt Funds) and it is also true that Djoshi should also have patience to listen his father comments. To what extent is his father reputation exist in society today. I personally think that Djoshi have collected some experinces being in America and even attending school here, He should havesuggested his father for the ways for the providing better eduacation to common folks of Nepal((He was a Education Minister) ,should be providing tips not be a corrupt political leader. Wouldn't that be appreciated to provide some good ideas, I am sure it would be. Looking at the Djoshi defend in this discussion thread he sounds fierce, its all cool just take it easy? But I have a question, Have Dj had participated or helped his father campaign during election, posting those posters distributing Phamplets and even convincing people to vote for Hisr father promising GRJ would do better for the cittizens of country, If Dj have helped than I should say evaluate your self and get better feelings about it what you have posted and is the best time to evaluate your father again. If you haven't I apologige if I had said any xtras

I know GRJ's family very well. And here are two of many things which make me think that Govinda Raj Joshi is very suspicious person, who does not think about the society/people which he represent to. Only thing he care is his power and money!! 1) Before GRJ became MP, he had been working as a lawyer and had done so many bad things in Tanahun. One example. In Damauli bazaar, in his initiative, large area of SARKARI Land was registered in the name of some FATAHAS. GRJ represented the FATAHAS's -- fought very hard as a lawyer.(some of the local lawyers declined to represent these FATAHS in moral ground. Joshi should have done the same thing, if he was a real/reliable leader). He was reward by FATAHAS with many GHADERIES in Damauli. He helped FATAHAS to take SARKARI lands. Every one in Damauli know about this!! 2) During the last election Joshi was the home minister -- responsible for law and order. But he won the last election in an intersting way. How? -- he capture two VDC -- there was 98% polling and non of the people from other parties were allowed to go to the polling area. Even the candidates -- including his nearest rival. His Nearest rival Ek Bahadau Rana was physically tortured in Joshi's initiative when Rana tried to go to the polling area -- Joshi even used to polices torture Ek Bahadur and his workers. Rana was brought KTM immediately for treatment because of injuries. Local election officers, who at first wanted to invalidate that day's polling, were forced to say "the election was held in peaceful manner". I thought Joshi was the minister to protect people -- not to torture those who happen to support others. You can imagine how good home minister he was and what he has done to the nation. Joshi is just a Chamcha of GPK nothing more than that. He is an opportunist. He will be hunted by his past -- no where to go except political asylum. I am a neutral Tanahune and this is how I think about GRJ. Similarly, Khum Bahadar, Chiranjeevi,Vijaya Gachhedar, Bam Dev etc. are in the same boat. Including GP Koirala who protected/promoted these bastards. I wonder how long Nepal have to see these opportunists!!

Sarad Khanal Jee and friends, You may want to hear this. After being a minister, this is what Gonvinda Raj Joshi has achieved. Please see the breakdown and imagine how the hell a minister with his 15,000rs/month salary could afford this. You do the math. 1) A 75 Lak mansion in KTM Completion 1995. 2) A 25 Lak Maruti Jeep. 3) A 30 Lakh house in Tanahun. Completion 2000. 4) Funding for two son's education. One went to Philippines and second one went to India then to KU in Kathmandu. (I personally heard Joshi saying in a party that he spent $300/month for elder one in Philippines and 4,000rs IC for youngest one. (5 Lakh + 2 Lakh) 5) Wedding of his elder son: 10 Lakh. ________________________ Like this his property wealth is 150,000,000 (one Karor 50 Lakh). It took him only 8 years! I wonder how he did and much more he has more in hidden account and foreign investments. No wonder why he always declines to disclose his property! What a corrupt creature he is! Dumer Bhansar

I dunno about this one, but I am sure its exaggerated. 4) Funding for two son's education. One went to Philippines and second one went to India then to KU in Kathmandu. His elder (older) son's never been married. This kinda proves that you really don't know GRJoshi and the family that well. Anyhow, the younger son who got married was during GRJ's ministership and a lot of the cost savings was there with the perks of the position (I am not saying its right, but its a typical case, Bamdev's brother or someone was married when he was a minister, Moti Lal Bohra had his daughter married when he was IGP and so on) ------------ Here's my take: I wish you had more dirt to throw at him. This is obviously malicious itent from your side due to frustation or political affluence. If you really want the hearsay, go fish on Khum Bdr, I have heard he as much as 60 crores (pointed out earlier here on this forum). ------------ Expecting all you frustrated "educated" barga who either abandoned Nepal or are in Nepal and mixed your virginity with the sewage of Kathmandu to rebuttal. Lets keep rolling.

As a Nepali citizen tired of corruption, corruption and corruption, I hereby propose that at some time in the near future, sajha.com hire a professional photographer or two in Nepal (who may well remain mostly anonymous), and have that photographer take and post HONEST and VERIFIABLY TRUE pictures of our netas, their houses/buildings in Kathmandu, their Pajero jeeps, their various vulgar displays of ill-gotten wealth and so on for the whole wide world to see and comment on. So, instead of debating whether GRJ has a Pajero or not, with photos around, we will all be able to see for ourselves the number-plate, the make and the whole shebang surrounding GRJ's Pajero and more -- making it easier for us to reach our own conclusions regarding GRJ and many of his esteemed colleagues such as Khum Bdr. Khadka, Chiran Jibi Wagle and so on. Sure, as our GRJ-faithful Digital Maniac would argue, such a process would be open to abuse. Agreed. Let us then look for ways to go for a built-in third-party verification (hence the emphasis on the verifiable truth above) of the photos so that the system would NOT be amenable to abuse. With this safeguard in place, even Digital Maniac, one supposes, would have no problem. And our netas ARE public figures in whose lives we are all interested. Folks, let's face it: the press in Nepal has done and will do very little to be RELENTLESS about rooting out corruption. Where the mainstream press has failed in Nepal, it's now time for the "underground press", such as this interactive site, I suppose, with its critical mass of educated, thoughtful, and caring-for-Nepal Nepalis from all over the world have to take matters in their own disparately organized hands to start launching relentless assaults (a la tehelka.com) against corruption, even from afar. Else, we shall forever be reduced to, to borrow engineer Dipak Gyawali's very colorful phrase from another context, masturbating over the issue of corruption in Nepal for the rest of our lives. I don't know: what do you guys think? oohi tired of corruption -- and inspired by Haahoo Guru's "digital-camera at the airport" approach ashu ktm, nepal

One more thing: If such a plan (see above) were to be carried out, then, that would be an attempt to root out corruption DIGITALLY. And any attempt to root out corruption DIGITALLY is likely to be welcome by, well, our digital maniac. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

If we really want to make Sajha.com our real Sajha.ghar then, I here by declare that I will pay 10,000 Japanese ($100 from income - $20 tax = $80 : equivalent) yen to buy Fuji's or any digital camera. But, Fuji's digital camera series has 19,000yen model (now in price down whose original price is 49,000yen in Japan). In BKK airport, I found it as costly as equivalent to 40,000 yen. Its very comfortable model to carry, and its 2.1Megha pixel enough for uploading images for websites. It has USB connection, so no additional accessories required. Just Plug in and send the photograph, using your email connection via Palm type computers. I am not joking, but, I want to make sure that the camera whose purpose is to take corrupts photograph, should get corrupted by its user mostly taking private photographs for private purpose. Well, I don't mind some nice pictures shot when photographer think its worth. My donation is not joke, but, honest and its from my TAX paid income. Well, I can send it (camera) with anyone going to Nepal, once we get another real honest sponsor who sponsors money from legally earned income. Iin custom office in TIA, they told me that you can carry one still camera without any problem, its legal. So, its time to start finding another sponsor. Let Nepal Sajha.com Society (=Nepal Sajha Society or Nepal Monitoring Forum ....whatever you call) be dedicated for the betterment of Nepal. (I heard in Korea (in a NHK TV program) they have a monitoring forum, that looks after TV, movies, musics, news media, to political persons and gets feedback from public. Its really very powerful, only thing we need is that we should not be using this /such forum as a ticket to top level govt. jobs/political appointments. Our aim should to let peoples discuss their problems here freely and let others know how to solve the problem, and also know how to avoid the problem, and how to bring those problem makers known to the world of Nepalis. Hello Mr. Digital Maniac, You are doing a good job defending GRJ! Just give me a logical reason, why GRJ does not disclose his property? There is a rule (passed by cabinet) which makes all cabinet members to disclose their property. GRJ disclosed his property in early 90's, when he became minister for the first time. Since, then he has stopped doing so. But why? Why not second time? third time? what is he scared of? Of course, the his illegal wealth! Think about it and use of common sense! Dumre Bhansar.

Ashu and Haahoo and Dumre Bhansaar Sirs: I don't see your bickering about GRJ's wealth really taking anywhere. Its not if I believe they have done any wrong-doing, gotten kickbacks etc. I am just pointing to you about the magnitude of it. Khume has gotten quite a load of money, no wonder he always has 30-40 mps hovering around him. Dr. Mahat is another shrewd corruptor, he has done far worse than GRJ. Dr. Mahat was the one who had a dollar account and never revealed it. He was the same guy who got quite a hefty kickback shares of Harisiddhi Brick industry. No wonder the government with the leadership of Dr. Mahat is planning to disperse 1 Arab Rupees as a relief package to some of the sick companies, one of them being Harisiddhi Brick Industries. There are more than 10 Big Brick factories in Nepal and all of them are in poor condition. I totally agree that GRJ has accumulated some wealth most likey through improper means. But if you compare his wealth to others it is not really much. Through my personal experience I have found evidence to point the fingers at our Late Sarba Maanya Neta Ganesh Man Singh, of course most people will not believe it. Girija himself is a big dawg and people ususally find a way to get to him through Sujata. Khume made a killing ripping as much as 3 crores a month during his haydays. He was the same person who gave permission to Lotto getting a hefty kickback. Lotto was cancelled due to pressure from World Bank. Look at Deuba, he was engrossly involved in the Pyramid Scheme and as if he didn't know. Is he not the dumb ass who went to LSE? If you look at the commies, they are the worse, they are the ones who budded and inspired the growth of orgnaizational corruption. Individually they might have far less than the Congressi vaiyas but their party is rich. If you consider top 10 richest people and organization in Nepal, UML will probably make it to the top 10, and it might be the same for Maoist these days. Do you know that UML is a key player in some markets. They have invested in banks to micro buses to Daily Newspapers. Wonder where they got the money? Is levy enough? Now back to GRJ, my short and sweet point is: The guy has not earned as much as most of you think. Its peanuts compared to Girija/Sujata, Khume, Gacchadhar, Dr. Mahat and the commies. I am much more worried about Mr. Khume, he is the one who has been trying to get the Akhtiyaar under his wing, no wonder why?

Ashu and GP: It seems like this forum can be used for something really tangible. we come here rake our brain, fight amongst ourselves, get frustrated over condition in Nepal and of the world, talk about literature and more. So, yes, let's do it. Let's do something about this colossal corruption that is plaguing Nepal. Let's hold these corrupted to the core people accountable in some way. We can do it! I cannot put the dollar amount right now but I am ready to chip in for this photographer. Ashu, can you corrdinate this? I know you are busy with other zillion things, but surely you can spare a moment for this worthy cause? (I still have to contribute to Sajha.com... I think for this year this is it. Otherwise I have to go rob a bank just to support worthy causes)

DM wrote: "I totally agree that GRJ has accumulated some wealth most likey through improper means. " Thank you, DM. Sure, GRJ may be "less corrupt" than some of his colleagues, but what does being "less corrupt" really mean? That's like saying that a woman is partly pregnant: I mean, either the woman is pregnant or she is not. Likewise, either our netas are VERIFIABLY corrupt (hence they should be punished) or they are not. Also, just because GRJ has accumulated FEWER lousy million rupees than some of his colleagues does not make much of a difference. In this thread, though the spotlight is on GRJ, this entire discussions could well have been about other political netas too. NK and GP, Sure, I'd love to co-ordinate this "photography" thing, but, to achieve really effective results, people co-ordinating/doing such things should be ANONYMOUS, discreet, and known only to a few sajha.com people on a strict need-to-know business, you know, sort of like that Jackal character (in a positive sense here) in Fredrick Forsyth's novel "Day of the Jackal". Unlike the Jackal of the novel who would shoot people, our Jackal would shoot pictures and post them for all to see and reach their own conclusions re: "the relative poverty" of our netas!! As such, I would prefer NOT to know the photographer (or even people behind such a venture), but would give them all the freedom and anonymity to take and post VERIFIABLY TRUE pictures of our netas, and of various displays of their wealth. So, this idea is more appropriate for someone else - who's been silent so far, who's not known to many people (at least by his/her real name) but who wants to take decisive actions for Nepal's betterment in a quiet, anonymous and discreet way -- to take leadership on this issue. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

What seems possible to do right away is creating a section in GBNC where personal testimoniese of corruption can be tabulated. Some of them might be rumors, but they can be investigated. We could creae a lits of all the public figures and invite people to give us their input or find articles from newspapers and start making an archive. In due time, further action that are concete can be taken. There is no doubt in my mind that these corrupt figures should be flushed out like terrorists, and their ill-gained property should be confiscated and turned into public goods.

In order to clearify the truth about whether son of Mr G.R Joshi( former minister) own a Gas Station in Denver, Colorado, I would be more than happy to share my facts. ok guys. this is enough. we can talk about the public figure but not this way. i believe if we r smart enough we have to find the truth. Talking is always easy. if some people wanna know what his son is doing, does he has business then try to find out and let people know the truth. i do not see any point to spend time talking nonsense. If his son has gas station in colorado then ask people from colorado and tell other people the truth if not then stop this nonsense and find good topics to discusses far as i know his son go to school in Denver and according to my friend he is very nice guy and he run his life with good principle. i am not trying to defend him but reality is reality. i do not blame him for some thing I do not know about. if u guys find some more information then let me know. I would love to know about him.

It may be the case that GRJ does not come at the TOP of the "most corrupt list". I think the degree of curruption should not be judged only by the accumulation of illigal wealth, but also the motive and the impact of the corrupt behavior. Also the Accumulated welath throug corruption = f(motive, ability, access to resource). In case of GRJ, motive = maxium, ability = minimum, access = moderate. As a result he failed to make on the TOP of the list. Given his background (such as low grade lawer in district court), his lacked a skill of efficient manupulation (even if he had max. corrup motive) and he had to resort to very crude techniqes. I heard one story about GRJ charging 3-5 lakhs for allocating self-finacing quota for medical and engg study from students. One of the reason, why GRJ is so infamous among geneal mass is that he was involved in very petty kind of curruption (specially when he serve as Education minister). But people like KBK or RSM had to deal only with stablished business houses or contractors.

Hello friends, I agree with pardeshi. No Offense to the son of Govind Raj Joshi or Digital Maniac. GRJ Joshi charged 10,000rs for most of the teachers he hired. If any one wants or any organization wants, my brother would be more than happy to give a testimony. When, where, how he gave 10,000rs to be a teacher. Any of Tanunge 350 teachers, who got a job primary/high school teacher with GRJ's THADO ADESH, can tell you the truth. It was during last mid-term election, 1995. Most of them got THADO ADESH in GRJ'S campaign trail. My brother got the job when he approached GRJ's PA in a BHATTI in Tuhure Pasal, Tanahun. Besides the 10,000rs bribe, all these teacher had campaign for GRJ unti the election day -- that was the main condition. He did the same thing when he was Home Minister and Minister for Water resource. He was exploited our nation and society wherever he can. He is not worthy of talking!!

It is stupidity to publish in the newspaper without knowing the fact. I know Govinda Raj Joshi's eldest son. He lives in Colorado not owning the gas companies but working in a gas company. He is spending his life as a simple layman. I am shock hearing the false statement. Please let spend his private life alone. Thanks, Ratna
