FYI I am not here to promote a phone card but this morning I bought a $10.00 STI card from an Indian grocery store just to see if it works. To my surprise, it did work. I called a number (outside ktm) and the call went thru. $10.00 card givs 46 min. of talk time. "A semi monthly maint. fee of $ 0.59 will be assessed after the first call", the card states. Try at your own risk. Once again I am not promoting the card. sparsha

Does it have a toll free access? So the rate comes to be around 21c/min. That is good, but you have to use the card within 2 weeks otherwise 59c will be charged--right??

improverished n homesick, Since I am not a promoter of that card I really don't feel comfortable in talking about it here publicly at GBNC . I just dialed a couple of numbers in ktm. but the calls DIDN'T go thru (busy and busy signals...even though the card says it's 1 hr. 15 mins. for $10.00). So, if you are trying to call ktm. then this card may not be the right one for you. However, I also called a number outside of the ktm. and the call went thru (46 mins. for $10.00). If you are still interested, reply to my email and I will give you their customer servce # and other info. sparsha

I have written several email to NTC,NTA and other ministries regarding current blocking of VOIP in Nepal. But they don't respond at all. One think we should know is NTC is not a goverment agency. NTA is the one and Goverment should not protect any organization. All the private company should be treated equally. If these private company is bringing new technology why should not NTC compete with them. India had banned it for few months but then they lifted the ban because they figured out that cheap communication is must in order to compete with other country in IT. Nepal has a big disadvantage now. All these goverment agency is talking about IT park. blabla but no company will come here if the cost of communication is so high. The goverment is so narrow minded. They can't look around what's going on around the world. Most of the contry that are doing good in IT don't have this banned. Only countries this technology is banned is I guess Iran,Iraq. I have heard that nepalese card companies have request several times that they are willing to pay the goverment good about of Tax and fees which will benefit the goverment. But the goverment doesn't realize this. If goverment can really ban VOIP why it should close all ISP coz most of the people in nepal can use dialpad,net2phone. Let us all make effort to make the goverment realize the benefit of VOIP Thank you PS

"I called home with AccessWorld - Asia Exclusive. Flat rate - 3.9C/min. No connection fee." What? 3.9c/min? is this a typo? If no then VV you must be kidding unless your home is somewhere here in the US.
