What really makes one happy? Money? Fame? Power? Are lot of people happy? Are you happy? If you are happy what makes you happy? What do you do to make yourself happy? Work harder, make lots of money and be happy or have a nice loving family and be happy? What does it mean that you are happy? SMSainju

This potentially great thread seems to be killed prematurely by Beastmaster's sex and rock n roll. Let me try to revive it. Like everybody I was always on the quest of happiness. But many things I thought would make be happy for ever actually made me happy only for a very short period of time (a day or so, and in some cases just a minute). I was getting a rough idea about this intriguing thing called happiness. Then one day I found it already phrased precisely. "Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of travelling."-- Margaret Lee Runbeck This has been my mantra regarding happiness. Works for me. Nepe

Happiness: Category I Monetory ======= 1. Rich peoples: He wants more money. Dies in hunger for money. 2. Middle class: When have some money to buy the things in list for long time. 3. Poor Peoples: When has emough money to purchase food for his kids, wife and himself thats enough for next salary /wage day. Category II: Educated Peoples: Honest and dedicated intellectuals. ======= 1. When they get new good book in bookstore. 2. When they someone who listens to them, and had enough time to explain when such listeners don't know the topic to the level he knows and really interested to know. 3. When educated peoples find another educated person with moderate thought and have capacity to agree to disagree 4. When an educated person finds someone who is better in the topic that he has something looking for. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. 5. When someone make him as a distinguised lecturer with full paid up/down fair, and it happens in his or her own area of affliations. Category III: Students. 1. When textbooks are available in front of his desk. 2. When teachers are in classroom on the subjects of his/her liking. 3. When he has free time for enjoyment / Free talks with his friends and teachers. 4. While making telephone call to his parents, esp. mother, father and younger siblings. 5. When s.he gets birthday card from his/her parents exactly on birth day. Category IV: Graduating students: 1. When someone calls for job interview. 2. When job appointment letter is opened after a series of denials from job offers. 3. End of Salary bargainings, and lot of options on additionals benefits according to performance 4. Graduation Day (esp. after job confirmed). Category V: Kids Category VI: Salary men/women Category VII: Parents Category VIII: Old Retired Person Category IX: House Wife Category X: ....Politicians.... Overall, Money is first requirement, and if you don't have money to have basic standard life, "FAME" and "POWER" have no meaning. For me, these three make 3 nodes of a triangle, and myself being at the center of the triangle. With different issues, the distance between myself and nodes keep on swinging. Its your turn.
