Pushkar Pokharel, a former Boston Nepali now living in Ottawa, Canada, is giving a presentation on "Bacchu Kailash ko Geet and Sangeet" at Martin Chautari in Thapa-thali on Monday December 18 at 5:30 pm. During the presentation, Pushkar will sing a number of Bacchu Kailash ko classic geet-haru in front of an audience that will consist of (radio and print) journalists, musicians, music talent hunters and music industry executives. Those of us who have had the good fortune to listen to Pushkar sing in Boston - in informal momo parties as well as in more formal settings - know and appreciate that Pushkar's rendition of Bacchu Kailash's songs is of professional caliber. I myself first met Pushkar NOT in Boston, but in Bacchu Kailash Dai's House in Kathmandu in the mid '90s. It turned out that not only was and is Pushkar the numero uno fan of Bacchu Dai, but also one of his closest friends. As one of BK's song goes, "Kalpana ko gagan . . . moos.koo.rau.nay chandra ba.na, na . . ho . . ." oohi ashu
