Let us help San help us.

While we can certainly send message after message telling others to put their money where their mouths are, one thing is for sure: San has been spending an inordinate amount of time making this site available to all of us, as a source of entertainment, edification, correspondence, and on and on.

Moreover, the man is too modest to make a big deal about the matter, but after repeated nudging and suggestions by many of us, he has finally put up a little logo on the top right corner of this page through which we can send him a little token of our appreciation and monetary support.

Charity here will have no controversy. Let us help San keep this wonderful site going.

Which brings to question an interesting question, Ashu, Biswo, or anyone...Is there a credit card in Nepal? Is that even a good idea? I mean business-wise?
KOKO Posted on 04-Feb-02 05:06 PM

Since San had contributed to Gbnc for so long free of charge. How about GBNC return the favor. This site has taken a lot of work off the GBNC Executive committee. Its only fair that GBNC help him out as well.

Or is GBNC going to be that LAAZ NABHAI KO KUKKUR and pretend this never happened. How about it El Presidente` ?
joie de vivre Posted on 05-Feb-02 09:36 AM

I've never used PayPal before, or if I have I'm unaware of it. Just how secure is PayPal? I work hard at maintaining an excellent credit history and I guess I'm just a little apprehensive about using something I've not heard of before. I have purchased items over the internet on such web sites as barnes&noble, ftd., banana-republic, jjill etc. and have had no problems with identity / credit card info theft. Does anyone know of any reputable websites or companies who use PayPal? I guess I just need some reassurance that my credit card number's in the right hands (for those of you who consistently jump to the wrong conclusion without either fully reading or understanding what ppl write, I'm referring to PayPal, not Sajha or San).
Pay Pal fan Posted on 05-Feb-02 11:44 AM

Hi,

Pay pal is the one of the largest paypent processor in the web.

Hi brother do you use your credit card at c-store or at departmental store ? if you pump gas using credit card, web is the safe place to use your credit card, and pay pal is among the best.

San,
Has GBNC helped you in anyways except hand you orders ? Just out of curiosity... I know for fact(mentioned in earlier thread) that San's employer was hosting the site for free(thanks to San's effort). I feel that GBNC should contribute(financially) for hosting and web masters time(or give him a hand at least).

Hi Koko,
I don't mind doing this for GBNC. Makes me feel like I'm contributing something to the community I live in. Previously, when the site was gbnc.org only and I was contributing 2 hours plus everyday to maintain the site and do development work, I realized that I need to make sure that my work did not go to waste if gbnc for some reason went bust (which I hope not). With that in mind, I created sajha.com, a site which could provide service to organizations like GBNC if they are interested.

About contributing to this site. GBNC is welcome, but not required, to donate if they want to.

Thanks koko for your concern. Your support is appreciated.
Regards,
San

OH MY GOD !! I don't believe this .. how much does it cost to host a web site .. my unemployed nepali friend spends more on cigs ... you guys suck.. I say bring back nepalien.com ...

Hello Web Economic Migrant,
The cost to host a website depends on many factors. If you want to host a simple html bases website and you don't mind advertisements, they you get it for FREE.

If you want to host a website like sajha.com requiring database connections, unlimited traffice, large storage size, good connection speed, and other featuers, about $30 a month is a standard cost at any hosting company.
Cache Master Posted on 06-Feb-02 01:05 PM

I am paying $50 per year. I have my own IP, 500 Meg space. 5 gig transfer, php, mysql, email addresses, etc. etc. pretty reliable.
Cache Master Posted on 06-Feb-02 01:09 PM

Its Unix hosting. http://www.freeboost.com, they might have increased their fees. I got the deal from ebay. Search for web hosting on ebay and hook up with the ones who have most positive feedback. If its too cheap, it can't be true.

Good Luck

I wish you "Tama" is not giving this much of Gali
seriously to San, and even if you were joking or making
fun on San, I am really disappointed to find San
got attacked by you for what? For trying to find
sponsors to run this Sajha.com that will be available
free of cost on regular or irregular visitor.

Tama, if you are so much sick, and got mad or if you have
so much of frustrations, give gali to me all types, any time
anywhere, but, why on San, who is constantly
updating this site for our use. I love to read your
galis on me, but, I am not comfortable with the
galis on San, even if you were his friend making fun
as it happens sometime in real world in informal
talks / shows. You should be showing some
respect to such peoples who work for others, well,
the experience he gets by working here is what
he earns in return.

Only mad peoples think that rest of the world is
mad, he himself is the best. Lets not get that
kinda madness here.
