A while back there was a thread on Sai Baba which tried to expose his holiness, based on that thread, I want to understand a few inexplicable phenomena that takes place in the motherland. We all have heard of or experienced supernatural phenomena in Nepal. May it be Bokshi, Jhakri, Bhoot, Deo Ma(Deuta ama), kichkandi, etc, all of these things are inexplicable. Growing up as a student of science, these things were always a source of mystery. Is there any explanation of sorts? Do your beliefs shape up your reality? I would be interested in hearing about supernatural phenomena that the visitors here have experienced either first hand or second hand. Do share any explanations as well if you have any. Growing up in Nepal, I heard of many supernatural phenomenas. I've seen people going crazy behind those stuff(like NAAGMANI, Shyaal ko singh etc.) to Birgunj and other cities in Nepal. I've heard that people are willing to pay Karods and even risk their lives. Is there an explanation for these things???

Growing up in a certain culture means growing up with the myths of that culture. Refering to myths, magic and mysterious phenomena of many cultures(from the far East to the West), the stories of "little people" is very popular and surprisingly similar. These "little people"?????? are known by all kinds of names: gnomes, goblins, dwarfs, lapricons, sakata, pholo, etc etc..... In Nepal too, the stories of the SAKATA (little people) is heard everywhere. It is said that these little beings are supernatural and have all kinds of power. It is also said that they are used by very powerful witches and jhakris to run errands. So, it means these beings exist in the realm of black magic and spiritualism. For many people such stories are still a joke or plain past time. But for many it is far beyond just stories; it is a reality, a quest and even a hunt, for it is said that catching one means a very large bounty in the world of black magic and black market. That is why in the recent years many people from close and far(foreign lands) are seen spending long and tiring days in villages all over Nepal. Believe it or not, a SAKATA costs like "pachas karod"??????? That must be the reason why so many people even lose their lives trying to get one of these rare stuff like marni, syalko singh, gaiko ......(something), etc. Does anyone have more stories on this?
