I have seen a lot of posting about ... who is the most corrupt, why is an arranged marriage bad, Can Nepalis think, and so forth ...

How about your choice of who you consider the "Men/Women" of Nepal in the past 50 years!

I am curious to find out!

Hmmm.... Men/Women of Nepal in the past 50 years....

Ram Bahadur, Shyam Bahadur, Hari Bhakta, Krishna Das, Gobinda, Tirtha, Pasang, Dorje, Bhunte, Radha, Chameli, Gauri....... sorry the list is too long !

But seriously, no body. Can't you see we are where we were 50 years ago, may be worse. And that's because mother Nepal has not given birth to a single Man/Woman yet. May be she had/has given birth. But they should have all died an early death of frustation, resignation or blending-in. Mother Nepal is waiting to see some one degfeating the death. But nobody has come out yet. Nepal is a country of dead people. No, I am not talking about few hundred Maoists, police-army and civilians killed by now.

Nepeji:

I don't think we are in worse shape now than we were fifty years ago. 50 years
ago, we were in pretty bad shape. To say we're better 50 years ago is to say that
we were better under Ranas, which is not true.

Simply my input.

All right, I went too far to say we haven't progressed. Of course we have. But if we calculate our total progress by subtracting the average progress of a set of countries comparable to Nepal 50 years ago, we will have net negative progress. That perhaps can be called being worse.

My defence.

On the original note, there was a similar thread to this one, on top ten respected persons. People listed their favorite persons. However, If they had also added why they think so, it could have been more interesting discourse.

For me the following two fellows are positive, if you ask me to
select from the guys among regular Sjha.com surfers:

1. Biswo
2. Ashutosh

And, if you are expecting Satya Badi Harischandra, I am
sorry to say there are probably no one.
