for 2nd problem,
i assume that when rectangle inscribed by semi circle is largest, then area covered by shaded region is small.
area of rectangle = A(x) = length*height=2x*sq root (1-x^2)
then differentiate with respect to x..u wil get x then put x value in sq root(1-x^2)
