It is our pleasure to see so many advertisements for calling cards to Nepal in this site. However, some are trustworthy and some are not. Last time I asked if someone can post their experience with those cheap calling cards. Here comes some bad experiences.

Last month Hemendra Bohoraji from Himtel and Baskotaji (?) from Dhukuti wrote in this forum about the real problem of the calling cards. If it were possible for others like Asia Express or any other cards, why it would not be possible for these two genuine people to lower their rates? It is perfectly logical to search for cheaper cards but my experience with some other long-distance calling cards here makes me very cautious about using any cards outright. There is a proverb:
"Agultole Haneko Kukur Bijuli Chamkanda Tarsanchha" which has slightly modified hindi version: "Dudh ka jala chhachh bhi phunk phunk kar pita hai".

I have changed my behavior of calling to Nepal by reducing calls. Whenever absolutely necessary I use the AT&T card from Dhukuti. If you are near Sam's club and have membership (or can borrow from friends) you can buy the same card for less. Looking forward to seeing Himtel back to their business and the Dhukuti.com selling theirs cards too.

Gandhi ji,

I think the appropriate proverb here would be "Chauta khana gaeki budhi, jhol ma dubera mari". Because you don't believe that NTC has blocked all the circuits except AT&T. You're right Himtel and Dhukuti.com have explained very well. However people still try to be too smart so get into that proverb.

Give Nepali enterprenuers to work for you and get the good quality service while you are watching TV at your place.

I personally don't want to risk buying any other cards right now until unless I hear some good news.
Like Gandhi said I'm also using just card from Dhukuti.com and happy about it.

I appreciate the positive remarks by both Gandhi Ji and SK Ji (is it appropriate to add JI at the end of initials? ... I don't know).

Dhukuti.com itself is not a telecomunication company. We basically go out there in an open market and do research and find the best quality cards at the best price. Right now, the YETI card provided by Dhukuti is the best in the market and connects to Nepal the first time you dial, 99 times out of 100.
We also have some other cards such as EVEREST Connect that are resonablly good. Probably connects 90 % of the time ... There are even some PINLESS rechargable phone service available at Dhukuti!

Hoping to continue to serve the Nepali community in the US and around the world.

Thanks!
