Sending money home
Nepali workers remit more money than the country earns from tourism, foreign aid and exports combined. --HELMATA RAI

-----
Among the remitters who legally transferred their taxed income
to Nepal, (via Banks), I am sure I must be among top 10 Nepalis in 2001,
if not then, surely within 2 dozens. Well, there can be many Nepalis
who work in Japan as OVERSTAY, and they are not allowed to send
money through Banks to Banks, must have remitted their earned
money via Hundi. My point is that there are not many Nepalis
(out side UN/ADB/WB/FAO jobs)who living abroad under secured
visa have been able to pay back to their country. Some of them
who are here in legal biz. or visa, still transfer money via Hundi
because they say get Rs. 4/5 rupees extra per US $, i.e. if you
send $50,000. then, you are saving Rs. 2,00,000. rupees. So,
they say no point in wasting your income to govt. account. They
call me PAT-MURKHA. Well, I can proudly claim anytime to Deoba
or anyone that how I acquired the property in Nepal. Nothing
to hide, nothing to cheat. Hey, I can even print one outrageous
photograph/posters i.e. nude, "of course the front part covered by hand"
and it can be with the caption "Every thing with me is Open / Transparent --
except the part of body that the social ethics and law prohibits".
Shame on those who earn legally, but, transfer money in Nepal,
illegally, and I have nothing to say on those who earn as "overstay",
and do not have any other options other than "HUNDI".

God Bless all earners and god bless the legal earners to
send money via Banks, so that at least they do not try to hide
their real incomes and indulge in filthy practice.
