I know its wrong to feel this way, but right now I feel more merrier whenever I see headlines like below. I wish the number of Maoist killed is much higher. Deep down inside, f___ the maoists, kill'em all. This is so wrong to feel this way, sorta enjoying in the deaths of fellow Nepali, but they are f___ing terrorists. You can lie but can't control that feeling. ------------------ At least 46 Maoists killed as troops launch massive counter offensive KOL Report KATHMANDU, Feb 21 - Days after Maoist insurgents launched a major attack on Achham district that left over 140 security personnel dead, troops have apparently launched major offensive operations in Achham and three other adjoining districts killing at least 46 Maoists. The Maoist death toll is expected to rise significantly. The Defense Ministry confirmation of the counter offensive against the Maoist rebels involved in the Achham attack comes after persistent reports here that the army has launched massive operations as well as sealed off major exit points out of the district. Sources told Kantipur Online that the offensive is being carried out by troops from the No. 5 Brigade based at Dipayal and is being supplemented by special forces of the Bhairabnath Battalion as well as artillery units. The Defense Ministry in a statement issued here Thursday said that security forces had launched a large scaled offensive against Maoist terrorists in Achham, Doti, Kalikot and Dailekh districts. It said 46 deaths among the Maoists insurgents had been confirmed but the number was expected to rise significantly. "Maoist terrorists had suffered massive losses during clashes with security forces at different locations in Achham, Doti, Kalikot and Dailekh districts. Fourty-six terrorists are confirmed killed in the fighting. The terrorists carried away many of the casualties and the actual number of dead is thought to be significantly higher," the statement said. There was no casualties among the army during the clashes, the Defense Ministry said. The army action is also the first offensive against Maoists in areas considered to be their stronghold and marks a shift in its tactics from defense to offence. Until now, the army has only carried out limited search operations. The Defense Ministry also says two more Maoist rebels were shot dead during search operations in Dang and Rolpa districts. Three more Maoists were arrested in Arghakachi district. Meanwhile, army personnel shot dead a Maoist cadre in Sichahiti area of the nearby Lalitpur district this morning while the terrorist was on his way to place a bomb hanging on a banner. The Defence Ministry also reports that a minor skirmish broke out when soldiers confronted the Maoist group and that one soldier was injured. (rk/sjs) ----------------
