the present government has to go..... election should be held, but before that, both the government and the maoists should propose a cease fire, and challenge each other in the elections.IT's better to solve matters through elections, the price would be much cheaper than it would be to continue this raging war.We nepalese have to make a commitment and that to never support violence or corruption. After the election is held and the government is formed the first thing it has to promote is free eduction throughout the nation. Once everybody will have a chance to accquire basic skills to progress in life, it will come to everybodys understanding that this kind of situation will do no good for the country. We cannot by any means expect Nepals develpoement to be swift as every government has promised since last 11 years, so no matter what we are told , the nepalses people should at least have to be thoughtful and not be so itchy about the pace the the jobs are done.If we dont like corruption then we shold ourselves make the committment not to accept it for our own needs, large or small amount, a bribe cannot be morally justified, let us not forget that, every evil eventually has to pay a steak price. So people instead of expressing your ideolgy and pointing fingures at each other, why dont we just try atleast to follow the simple and basic solution.

of course they will, if they are promised for a safe passage, and that's the government responsiblity, and i think they will give them that option if they really want to end this viloence.

Here... (1) Even if Deuba goes and any Ram, Shyam or Hari comes to power, will it completely solve the problem? The idea is totally irrational. Look at this way: When Girija was in power, the killing spee by the Maos were on. It is is now even after Deuba came to power. Why invite more of political instability when the nation is in crisis...WE HAVE TO STAND UNITED. At least, the UML turned out to be more responsible than the ruling party by giving a majority support to the extention of emergency. Finally, we see some unity. (2) Are we going to get a good government from those who rule the villages with the barrel of the gun, kill our country's security forces and do not turn back from extorting the sidha sadha Nepali Janta? (3) Do you think the 1990 people's movement should be ignored to bring the Maos to power, ignoring the entire concept of democratic elections?

I wish I could share your optimism - I don't feel that the maoists have demonstrated much good will when it comes to respecting peaceful negotiation processes. I am not also not sure that the maoist leadership would be able to control their followers - so even if they decide to come back to the negotiation table they will not be able to do it.
