I was so reluctant to open this thread....lord knows how badly I didn't want to see my name in this thread. BUT benevolence of BNP prevailed and spared me. This is my lucky day. It was around 8:30 Pm in a cold maghe evening some 15 years ago and I was heading home from Putalisadak. Roads were dead, no traffic, no people. I felt like I am walking thru a ghost town. As I was moving ahead via kumari hall ko galli I was feeling terrible. I just wanted to get home without being intervened by living or dead ghost. I felt like someone tied up my each leg with 60kg.I finally got home and as soon as I bolted the main door from inside I looked at myself and couldn't belive I made it. I was so relieved. That's how I felt today by not seeing my name here. :-)

>This is my top 10 list. For fun only. >4.Krishna Gopal Shrestha ( Sword-brandishing >law maker, won't listen to reason!) I am shortly concerned with your posting even you say it is for FUN only. I disclaim on the political idiology with Krishna Gopal Shrestha. I have never been engaged with his parade. However, personally, I have regard to him. Since his appearance in Kirtipur town, people of Kirtipur, Panga, Nagaon, and other several neighbor towns of Kirtipur were benefited with his effort. He was a ray that carried out literacy to the girls and boys who were far away from the access of public education in that area. He had inspired to the people to be active in politics as well. Additionally, he had taught to the people for establishing self-respect. That was worthy to those people who were entirely helpless and dominated by social and cultural values around the area. His contribution can hardly be dismissed because we all know that the contribution of Kirtipur for restoration of democracy in 2046. My saying is that he is a respectable figure for the people of Kirtipur. Nevertheless, there were several other local leaders with him and in other side, there were comrades Lila Mani Pokharel and Shankar Pokharel as well. It is basically personal perception, still we should have some information to criticize any figure, personally. He is not a murderer as Bijay Gachhadhar. Bijay had killed his political fellow Fanindra Timlsina in Biratnagar Campus and he was jailed. It is just for comparision between two political figures that I know. pcm

#7 struck a chord in me. During my last visit home, quite a few people - relatives and non-relatives alike - kept raising this subject. They would usually go about like this, "you are doing well in Kannada/Amreeka and that is haami sabai ko laagi garva ko kura ho, but now it's time to pull us there too." This in itself is quite logical, indeed it would be my duty to help them, but they fail to understand there is nothing I can do to get them their visa. Another similar issue is, folks back home have a very fantastic preconception of life here. A lot of my peers and juniors there asked me, " Oota ta ekdum majjaa aaucha hola hagi? Looga jootta sub original. Sub ka sub le gadhi chalaune. Daami life, hai?" To them it is all glamor. What they don't see is how much of hard-work, loneliness, time away from your loved ones, corporate rat-race, poverty(especially when you are a student) that you have to go through so that you can attain those glamorous materialistic achievements. Sangey ps - in the same vein but different note, I am beginning to realize (and I speak only for myself) justo sukai dhoolo mailo naramro bhaye pani, aakhir ma aafnai ghar pyaaro. Aafnai dhoolo ho, aafnai mailo ho. Our stay here in the west is basically a portion of our life we trade for money. What are your thoughts on this?

Purnaji: This thread is primarily intended for fun. Btw, the only time I saw Mr Shrestha was when he was leading a group of Akhil thitaas in front of Pancha Kanya Campus in one of his several juluses. He looked very ferocious, and so much un-MPlike. Definitely, you sound like you have better idea about him, and it seems you have regard for him, so sorry for hurting your feeling. You know we all can be wrong. Sparshaji: you are in top ten list of the persons I would like to meet. Kaso. ?ji. How can I say ? May be we were good friend in Ascol. I used to have so many confusion and questions at the time:-)
