I found a great phonecard through http://nepalworldnews.com , that gives you fifty minutes for 10 dollars to Nepal. I was cynical at first. But decided to buy it and try it. And it worked. Having not been able to call home for so many weeks, I was so happy to hear their voice. I talked for 4 minutes, and then said that i will call them again. Wanted to see if it gave full minutes. Tried again, and it went. And gave full other 46 minutes. No monthly fees, no connection fees, no surcharge or other hidden fees. card billed in one minute increments. Expires 180 days after first use. More information about the phonecard can be found at http://nepalworldnews.com . You can curse me how much you like if it doesnt work. It works, and I think you will thank me for teling you about this phone card. It solved my freaking phone problems. I think it will solve yours too. Thanks.

Bro, this card is phoneshark card-- works but is not reliable. Uses VOIP, so its good only for those who can take chances. It worked for me, but I don't think the connection was that great though.

Hi guys, TRY WWW.CYTUS.COM

The one at http://cytus.com is more than twice more expensive than the one at http://nepalworldnews.com one. Cytus.com is selling the card themselves while nepalworldnews is just listing it there, and hence no middleman costs, and the transactions all being done by the provider sites themselves.

You dont have to enable the cookie or anything. Maybe it was something with your computer. Otherwise the checkout process is simple. select the card, proceed to check out, give your info, have the card pin instantly in email as well as on your computer screen and start calling. try it again. it might work. the site is more compatible with explorer.

I had never used a prepaid phone card before but all these regular discussions about cheapest phone card to Nepal got me thinking. I decided to be a vigilante. I went out and did some research. As a consumer the more information I get the better. So here is my analysis. I am sure some of you will come up with a different slant on this but you are within your rights to do that. Lot of these cards from TeleNepal, DialNepal, MemoryCall, ??Calll….. are cheap. But be aware that lot of these cards have some catch. The following are some of the things you should be aware of: 1) No Connection Card: Billing at 3 minutes or 5 minutes interval. This means if you talk for 1 minute you will be charged for 3 or 5 minutes. If you talk for 3.5 or 5.5 minutes, you will be charged for 6 or 10 minutes respectively. 2) No Connection Card: Weekly maintenance charge of 50 to 95 cents per pin. This will chew up your money quicker than you can say “hello … sunnu bhayo..!” 3) No Connection Card: If you call from or to cell phone/Pay phone there is an extra charge (ranges from 95 cents to 1.95 depending) 4) Connection Charge: Sometimes whether you connect or not, if you are on the line long enough, you will be assessed this charge. I have heard a lot of discussion about the AT&T cards. And you guys are right this is the best card in the market. Price Check on AT&T card. You will need to divide by 12 to get the minutes to Nepal. 1) Sam’s Club: $20.82 + tax (600 US Minutes) 2) AT&T online store: $49.95 + tax (300 US Minutes) 3) WalMart: $30.00 + tax (500 Minutes) There are some Nepali ecommerce sites that are selling the 600-minute cards for $24.00. So you make the decision… I tried variety of cards and my best choice is AT&T.

Thanks Mapani. Good analysis. That's why I have given up chasing the cheapest card. For past several weeks I just buy from Dhukuti.com. They have AT&T for $24 and there's one another card called Everest which is also no connection, no maintenance fee. The connection is very good and calls go outside of KTM also. My observation is Dhukuti.com brings the best card in the market to their store. The another thing you forgot to mention in your analysis is most of the card have difficulty to call outside of KTM. Also when the card is too cheap, most probably the card uses VOIP. The VOIP in Nepal is banned right now. So you're right decision is personal. If you want to save $1 or 50 cents and don't mind wasting time, you can buy cheapest card and keep trying all night long. On top of that loose your money. PG

Well its true that there are so many calling cards out there with all of them having hidden costs and some of them never works no matter how many times you try. But I don't mind wasting a little more money in a card that will give me a clear connection and I don't have to shout on top of my head and hear the echo while talking in the phone.I recently was looking for a card that fits my demand and I found this site called DialNepal.com. It seems like it is a new site as I had never noticed it before as I am a frequent websurfer. I purchased a card from them and I was quite satisfied with it.I recommend this card if you are looking for a decent card to call Nepal.

Hey, I also bought a card after my cousin told me it worked good for her. I also know the people who are running dialnepal.com, so I used it. Worked great for me. The sound quality was good. I didn't like their 3 minute rounding, but couldn't complain with the price and the connection. My Experience with other cards: Most of the cheap ones don't work, even if they work its almost like "chyakhe" thapeko. Those cards from phoneshark and prepaid I am sure that they are VOIP. It worked for me several times, but once there was so much lag, it was almost like talking on Yahoo Messenger. Go Dialnepal.com, we gotta encourage new startups, that way we always get cheaper cards. Lets not just depend on the Big fishes.

Yeah ..yeah the card from this dot com worked for me and that dot com for me I'm sick of these people. First of all dialnepal.com your site is not even secure third party hosted shopping cart and no secure certificate, no instance pin nothing YOU HAVE NOTHING on top of that you are charging rounding fees. dhukuti.com I thought you guys are little professional. But you proved me WRONG by posting these messages in this site. Your site is great but please do not take advantage of Nepalese by posting message in this site. Let people decide themselves. Veg

Vagabone: I think you are mistaken, Dialnepal.com uses secure.safewebshop.com 's certificate, check the padlock at the bottom right corner "when you are about to type your information" and click on it. The certificate is provided by Thawte and is valid till 10/31/2002. So please don't throw vile of discouragement without properly checking. I know the people who have started this and so I am biased, no question about it. I have encouraged them to lay out all the "fine prints" the best they can and they as far as I am concerned they have done that. I guess your problem is with yourself, not able to see other people trying to do their business. If you don't like something then you should point out that you don't like it, but coming here in a public place and throwing in false stories is not good. If you start a business in Nepal, there are always those cheap weekly's who will come and ask for ADs, if you don't give thme ADs, they would start spilling all the evils about your company next week. You kind of remind me somebody like that. Let these young kids grow up to be a successful businessmen. One more successful Nepali will be pride for us.

Yup dialnepal.com uses secure.safewebshop.com 's certificate not their own when I click on the padlock I do not see dail nepal name there I see safewebshop's name. This is not just dialnepal but all the nepali ecommerce. That's why I called it third party hosted. Old man you do not need to be offended all I'm doing is bring out fact infront of the public and this is what the public bulletin board meant for. Veg

Use the Asia Clean Card in this site. http://savings.prepaidonline.com . It really works. When you can talk for 50 mins for 10 dollars with no connection fee, why to use more expensive card. It works. If not, http://nepalworldnews.com will buy back your card. If you have any queries, you can email us directly.

Bato dekhaone manche dherai chaan ... kun chahin bato ramro kun chahin naramro! The bottom line to remember is that the cheap phone cards are cheap only because they use VOIP ... illigal in Nepal and no matter what anybody says, don't fall into the trap of "we gurantee" stuff... there are no gurantees... Listen to yourself, think about the bad experience of all sorts of VOIP cards from Himtel, DialNepal, CallNepal, and other carier/suppliers.... for myself personally, I use AT&T and will continue to do so as long as there is no other viable alternative. Don't fall victim to the "We offer the chepeast phone card" scam! Just a friendly consumer warning! Beaware!

Hi, Phone card lovers: As we know, once we had lowest rate on phone cards to Nepal. Because it was routed via VOIP (not the one you use with your pc). And we used to use carrier who connect Nepal using VOIP (Voice over IP). Right now Nepal Telecommunication corp. blocked VOIP. Result we are paying 100% - 300% more per/min. Because traditional carrier like ATT and others are expensive for Nepal. If you are paying really low rate like 40 min, 50 even 60 min for $10.00 these calls are still routed from VOIP provider and no one knows when they will be blocked by Nepal telecom. There are lots of powerful people in Nepal running this business. (Sujata jost. Even big employee of Nepal Telecom and more). if someone sale card for 20cents/min or 15cents/min and tells you this is from ATT, think yourself first :). If card works, it's always good to have a bargain CallNepal
