Ratata, if it consoles your burning heart then it is not only your girlfriend or girls, but from what i have heard, everybody wants to "parachute" to the States. Even the pujari in Pashupati Nath who gives you 'panchamrit' wants to come here. While one of my brothers was there saying hello to the loincloth clad god the pujari asked him if my brother could do anything to help him come to the States. Then my brother asked him, "but, why bajey, what will you do in the states." He had a valid answer. He shot back, "Well, dont' they get married in the States? Don't they do Nwaran?" Only if he was here when my daughter was born. Maybe it is not too late and I should sponsor him :)

Then there is this barber in our town. When another brother went to get a hair cut, he asked my brother, "yeso, milauna hajoor, janu paryo." No need to ask him where or why. Of course, we need to get a hair cut too, don't we?

My brother says it is in the air. Almost you feel it. Everybody (ok not EVERYBODY, but youknow what i mean) wants to jut go, leave. And our hometown reminds me and my brother, when we look around/talk about, R.K. Naryan's Malgudi days.
