Dr. Mahesh Maskey is a former Boston Nepali who studied public health at Boston University. He is an advisor to Nepal's influential Leftist monthly Muyankan.

Dr. Maskey was arrested on 16th March 2002. I don't understand why government arrested him? Does he have any connection with Maoist?

Surprise, huh. You wrote something which is not related to porn/sexual
harrassment etc. Good to know you are interested in things like Dr Maskey
and his movement.
Hope the government will release him soon. These people can conceivably act as
intermediary between Maoists and the government of Nepal. Moreover, those
who are not killing anybody shouldn't be persecuted just because they follow
extreme leftist view.I don't think Shyam Shrestha ever advocated killing of
innocent people.(though I know he is sympathetic to Maoists.)
