u gotta be kidding urself...9,000/50,000 is a high allocation for a country like nepal - in fact the terms of the DV program do not allow for that. you should stop posting misleading information even, as it appears, you have nothing to do and getting bored and your life is headed nowhere.

Bhainsi you are right.
The maximum allowed quota for a single country is 7% of available visa:
Total available visa: 55,000
Less 5000 reserved some South-American country.
=======================
Sub-Total available for rest of the world = 50,000
7% of 50,000 = 3500
3500 is the maximum visa allowed for any single country if it happens to be randomly selected by the computer. Hallahooooooo got your point?

Parakhi, 3500 per country is not true
they have issued 6900 lottery visa for Eygpt, 5700 for bangladesh, and about 6000 foe somalia etc..... in 2001.

Reader, you might be right, I am not opposing as I don't know much about it. I was just interpreting the instruction in the DV Lottery program.
.............The visas, however, are distributed among six geographic regions with a greater number of visas going to regions with lower rates of immigration, and with no visas going to citizens of countries sending more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the past five years. Within each region, no one country may receive more than seven percent of the available Diversity Visas in any one year............

Is there a way to check status of your DV thing? I filled that last year since then I moved from boston to New York and do not have access to my old address. I might have been one of the lucky ones.
