What is your GPA, GRE (if subject, then GRE Subject too) scores? May be then I can help you. There are funding for CS grad students in almost every computer science department of US.

university of Arizona. one of the best in the nation and one of the cheapest. if you think MIT is big then think again. UofA defeated MIT by 24hrs in solar car competition and came first. by the way standford also participated. Do the research and you'll find out that UofA is in one top five universities in the nation on pretty much all the engineering, MIS, and medicine.

I believe the GPA is not very great. My sincere suggestion is ,please, meet a professor in a "regionally good" university (like Arizona, Calpoly, Indiana, NCState, UGeorgia,Auburn,Colorado Boulder etc. whichever is nearest one to your present school), and prepare for GRE. If you can impress the professor, and you can get good GRE score(I would guess it should be around 2000-2100), you have a good chance.

dear student, good luck with the remaining years at school, but just one thing : You won't get into Harvey Mudd with 3.1-3.5 GPA range. Its one of the most selective schools in the US and is always ranked first among the engineering schools for undergraduate studies. I am telling you this because I was somewhere near Harvey Mudd and got to take a couple of classes there (non-technical ones). Another thing is you really have to know how to write and also be willing to take latin and art history at scripps, anthro at pitzer, econ at CMC and other classes such as philosophy (prof. sontag rocks) etc. at Pomona to graduate from Harvey Mudd. They hardly take transfer students unless the student has a good GPA, and has taken other classes outside his/her chosen field. Trailokya

ah! one more thing: Harvey Mudd doesn't have graduate studies except for Chemistry. [I don't know whether they now offer graduate studies in other fileds]. And yes, if you get admitted to Mudd, then before you graduate you will have at least 7 job offers to choose from. Good Luck, and let me know if you really decidee to apply to Mudd. I can suggest you some tricks to get in. Trailokya
