Being today April Fool day, I was told by one
friend of mine that Maobadi withdrew their Bandh call.
He said the news came in SANDHA TIMES (Nepalnews.com).
I can not understand Newari Language, and when I
asked him whether you are making me fool because its
April Fool day, the friend said. Its not me, you can
check in Sandhya times. Can someone read it and
confirm the news.

Lets assume they withdrew and if the "APRIL FOOL"
runs behind this news, then, Maoist freaks in villages
will not stop their actions against students and
teachers involved in the SLC examination. I don't know
what will happen to the SLC exams. I remember when
the ANNFSU leaders in my campus asked us to leave
the exam room when the question papers were already
distributed during my Intermediate final exams,
and then, TU did not offer compensating exam
schedule, and we lost whole one year for the sake
of Akhils' short sighted leadership and hadtal.
I am scared the students who will miss the exam
because of this Bandh calls, the bandh call withdraw news
reaching late to the ears of Maoist freaks in villages, then,
who should take responsibility? As we remember the
things in 2046, when Govt. withdraw the curfew from
city, via Radio, but, the Army in field did not have
full information, and a young boy died when he
came to street to celebrate the news, and finally,
got killed by Army. Similarly, the Maoist leadership
might withdraw at the last minute, but, this is not
real withdraw as long as the real withdraw does not
occure at root level, i.e. at villages. So, the govt. should
be aware of such problems and the security should
not be loosened.

Maoists reschedule strike

Maoists have rescheduled a five-day nation-wide strike coinciding with the start of school leaving certificate (SLC) examinations Tuesday, a Maoist leader said. President of the Human Rights Organization of Nepal (HURON) also confirmed the rebels have rescheduled the strike.

Mahanagar reported in its Monday editions an unnamed underground leader telephoned its office to report the strike had been rescheduled for five days beginning April 23. The newspaper said rebels are issuing an authoritative statement later Monday.

Altogether 254,291 students are appearing for the examinations from April 2 to 10 in 683 centers nation-wide under tight security. Many centers in remote insurgency-affected villages have been shifted to district headquarters.

Students took out a rally in the capital Monday demanding the withdrawal of the strike. nepalnews.com br April 1
