I get disgusted whenever I turn to CNN and other US media who are covering the current conflict in the middle east. Their view seems extremely biased to me. And, when I read the following clip on Boston.com which says that Americans' sympathies lie with the Israelis over the Palestinians by a 5-1 margin, I realised how much this biased reporting has impacted the general population here.

Perhaps, the term Terrorism needs to be thought in a new light. America is supposedly fighting Terrorism through out the world. Just like it fought communism. What is terrorism? To me it could be a war waged by people who have no other way of fighting back. And if that is the case, then why is it so much worse than a war between two military forces. Because the ones who kill, and get kill are paid? If one country is militarily far superior like Israel and has the backing of a even larger military and economic force like the US, then what avenue does a country (?) like Palestine have? Or, should it just accept the dominance of the larger military might saying "terrorism" is wrong?

When a 18 year old gives her life and kills others, there is something terribly wrong. When educated, "westernized" Arabs stay in the US for years and get acustomed to the US way of life and still choose to kill themselves and kill thousands others, there is something terribly wrong. These people know what they are doing. Know the grave tragedy of what is happening. But, to me, it seems they are saying, "We dont have a choice". For, they too are losing their lives, and what is worse, they know it, and they are doing it to themselves. To make a point. To fight the only way they are capable of. So, perhaps... terrorism needs to be thought of in a different way.
